"This bottle is pretty expensive now, but being able to sample it while on a relaxing trip to The Netherlands won't blast too big a hole in my wallet. This one has to rest for a good while or it will bite you and burn your eyes. Also try with water to release even more flavours. The nose is alcoholic before resting but the the Caroni comes to life with rubber, tar and petrol trailed by fruit, chocolate and a hint of wood and molasses. The palate is intense, complex and well balanced, warm and lightly woody with molasses, fruit, chocolate and tobacco as well as a hint of spices. The finish is forever with wood, rubber and tar as well as a jmhint of caramel."

"A great Caroni though very expensive. The tar and rubber are there from opening the bottle and just creeps across the table taking you into Caroni heaven. Lightly fruity with a touch of chocolate and caramel. I love the super long finish."

"01.11.2019 Den Dansk Rom & Whiskyfestival This was my first visit to this two day event, where everything is included in the ticket. Also the first event where I have seen so many extremely drunk people. This event usually just has what's considered mainstream products, but luckily my friend had the right contacts so for a premium we had our own little collection to go through. Today I get free a free ticket if I want to attend 😊 Very nice and fruity rum with good balance and a spicy/warm palate. The finish is very long and medium dry with nice fruits. Price to quality is very good."

"05.03.2016 Finally back in Kolding again after some years at Messe C in Fredericia. Much easier to get home when it's within walking distance. Had my good friend from Singapore visit for a month and that ended up in a lot of tasting 😊 This was a bottle i brought and it ended up empty before the day was over. Notes. Nose: overripe fruits, banana, light wood, ester, glue. Palate: balanced, fresh, intense, citrus, banana, caramel, light medicinal, light roasted wood. Finish: lightly dry, wood, light smoke, ester, fruits."

"J’avoue que c’est mon moins bon St Lucie, et je suis un peu decu. On a de beaux fruits bien mûrs, un peu d’ananas et de pomme assez faciles à déceler mais à côté une cire trop présente et des épices timides. Le tout finit un peu tôt.. ça manque de longueur, ça manque de quelques chose cette affaire."

"Nice 97 profile. A little more solvent, also fine notes of tropical fruit at the end. However, it lacks a bit of power coming out of the glass. Great mouthfeel and then a long, fresh, very crisp finish. Funky! Easy-drinking Caroni, I like it very much. However, it lacks a bit of power."

"A Berry Caroni bottled for Charles Hofer in Switzerland. A nose marked by wood, charred wood with smokiness and fruitiness too. The palate is open, full-bodied with tropical fruit, wood and an earthy edge. The finish is splendidly long, with aromas that combine and renew themselves. A wonderful surprise! Taste again as soon as possible."

"Anotjer nice tasting i went to but didn't have the time to add here until now. The nose is very fruity with nuts and caramel and a hint of grass. The palate tales off where the nose ended and this one should be rested because it actually evolves both on the nose and palate. Again fruity with smoky wood, caramel and vanilla are trailing and at the end a hint of tobacco. The palate is oily and very well balanced. The finish is medium long with wood, dried fruit and caramel."

"I like quite well ... not as dirty as often with Caroni (clear many love it exactly therefore) I find the interplay of the typical Caroni notes (rubber, leather, tar, etc.) with the yet beautifully fruity character great. Hints of chocolate and dried fruit."

"#4505 02.12.2023 Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money. It needs to rest for a good while to really open up. Fruity with light roasted wood and floral notes. The palate is lightly dry and warm and fruity. The finish is medium long with a nice floral touch. The empty glass has a light minty note."

"This rum has almost everything you want from a Jamaican rum to an extremely low price. This one should be named “Sweet Syrup & Herbal Spice”, cause there are several different rums called “Jamaica Classic Range”. The nose is funky, fruity, spicy and you can recognize the aroma of dunder. At the palate it’s spicy, funky and rich with a certain sweetness. The flavors are persistent during the long and powerful finish."

"I was skeptical about this finish beforehand. Unfortunately, the bottling doesn't really convince me either. As a Savanna fan, I don't really see any parallels to the base here. It is a traditional rum, I exclude HERR/Grand Arome. Overall, the rum is too unbalanced for me with lots of wood and roasted aromas."
