"Dark and oily. Very heavy, the scent lies him room. Chocolate, coffee, wood, caramel, leather. Only when you put your nose in the glass the fresh, grassy notes of an Agricoles come to light.a tart, long-lasting aftershave in the mouth. It now completely denies its origin, after a few minutes you briefly feel some grassy freshness on the palate.Craftsmanship very good, well balanced, alcohol integration a model. Wood you just have to likeFriends of old, heavy Demeraras, this is THE Agricole for you."

"Dense, complex on the nose with lots of tropical fruit and (pleasant!) solvent. The great impression continues on the palate. Insanely complex and delicious Hampden. The 35 years of maturation have made the rum incredibly round and elegant. There is an exciting smoky note on the finish. Excellent Hampden!"

"Excellent Caroni nose. Rubber, some tropical fruit and great cocoa notes. On the palate it continues first class and intense with a very pleasant sweetness. Only the relatively short finish then denies a top rating. The bottom line is nevertheless a first-class Caroni of the legendary 1996 vintage at a pleasant drinking strength."

"Jour 6 du calendrier Samples de Luxe et regoûté un an et demi après. Un nez jamaïcain mais pas de chez Hampden. Fruits jaunes, pomme et coings et de l’amertume. Très beau mais assez unilatéral. Alcool très bien intégré. Une bouche vive ! Une cave où reposent des fruits à pépins. Un boisé présent mais pas trop. Une finale plutôt longue et équilibrée. Un bonheur, même si la complexité et la profondeur ne sont pas vraiment au rendez-vous. Regoûté et un peu moins complexe par rapport à d’autres Clarendons."

"Un peu déçu c’est une bonne bouteile mais je n’accroche pas vraiment je m’attendais à une meilleure harmonie… Au nez on a de la pomme assez acide, de la poire du boisé et de la colle. En bouche on retrouve tout cela avec une certaine amertume peut être du massepain. Bonne longueur en bouche sur des fruits secs et cette sucrosité qui apparaît et reste un bon moment !"

"#4278 02.10.2023 At time of release this bottle had a good price compared to what you got. Today the bottle is pretty expensive. A nice well rounded and fruity Hampden. Nice glue and esters in the profile. The palate is oily and there is a nice touch of anise. The finish is long and warm with some grass. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some light notes of polish and very faint smoke."

"A rum like 15 year old Mulata that on taste reminds me of Caroni with those strong notes of barrel and tar. Really interesting with very good potential sin the light finish. Light hints of spices, roasting and chocolate, however well integrated. At the moment it comes 130 euros and because of such a fleeting finish I wouldn't know if it would merit purchase."

"A rum for which I had high expectations on paper. A very dark color. The nose combines old varnished wood and butter, pineapple, mango and leather. The palate is very smooth, woody, slightly mentholated, without heaviness despite the age of the beast. The finish is a little short, with wood that is (too) present but elegant. The nose is beautiful and complex, but the palate and finish leave me wanting more."

"Sehr liebliche Nase, die tatsächlich etwas vom klassischen Diamond-Eichenprofil aus den 90er Jahren transportiert, wenngleich natürlich angesichts der Trinkstärke alles deutlich weniger komplex und verwoben daherkommt. Am Gaumen wird der Rum zwar nicht wässrig, aber er vermag trotzdem nicht mehr ganz mit der Nase mitzuhalten - es wartet viel Karamellsüsse, die den Rest des Profils aus dunkler Schokolade, Milchkaffee und Holz etwas überlagert. Angenehm zu trinken, aber gleichzeitig ohne den letzten Kick."

"A magnum opened for a special occasion and drunk first with Cuba Libre, then on its own. A complex, broad nose in which all three origins are recognizable. But even though they make up half the blend, Guyana and Caroni are dominated by Jamaica on the nose. A light tar, smokiness and a dark edge are nonetheless evident. The mix with Coca-Cola is splendid, tasty, generous and alcoholic. Pure, Jamaica dominates the palate too, even if the chosen rum is "Low Esters". Guyana gives this rum a patina, and Caroni is only really evident in the finish. A finish that's a little short, strangely enough, and takes points away from it."

"Not at the level of the 1st batch for a long time. But still a great Everyday Spanish Easy-Sipper with depth and sweet wood flavors. Excellent for newcomers and is also always great with my guests.For barrel strength warriors certainly not the right rum."
