Rum Sponge No. 20
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the WLP. A generous nose with lots of fruit, tropical and yellow with a slight acidity. Smokiness, varnished wood and pear cake. The palate opens on a peppery note, but the fruit rises in power with noble wood. The finish is, like this rum as a whole, balanced, long with a noble bitterness. The empty glass reveals even more flavors. Tasted again in direct comparison with the RA 1995 EMB and it's utterly delicious, even if it's livelier with more pronounced fruit."

Top review from Jakob:
"Wow! Enmore at its finest: licorice, leather, plum, wood...positive surprise! For me, in the absolute top group of 1992 Enmores, because here, despite the many heavy flavors, an almost filigree profile is created, which comes along a little less heavy than the other releases, but exactly by this "lightness" in a positive sense independence. Downright noble - or simply excellent."

"#4197 It's very rare that blends like this, in my mind, very bold choice of rums. This one however Hits the nail on the head. The two mice very well and you get the cross cross of flavours from the two destilleres. Bold blend that pulls all the right strings."

"#4482 03-04.11.2023 Den Danske Whiskyfestival. Again a special meet up besides the event itself because we think it's a bit too dull. Had a great time with friends again. My notes. Nose: wood, fruity, pineapple, grass, spices, light floral note. Palate: warm, wood, ester, roasted, citrus, lightly dry. Finish: ester, wood, roasted, lightly dry, banana. Empty glass had faint anise and light marzipan."

"This sample arrive with he previous one and I'd loved a bottle of this one as well. A very good take on Jamaica indeed. The nose is funky with ester and fermentation notes followed by fruits and sweet vanilla. The palate is also funky with ester, tar and varnish followed by fruit and woody vanilla. The finish is long and warm with wood, ester and lovely fruit."

"Wow wow wow. What a bullet!!! Thank you Sascha for digging it out of the depths of your warehouse. I regret having squandered this one! I should have kept a lot more of this good stuff! The price is a bit steep, but compared to other prices for some rums it's still a bargain."

Top review from Gunnar BΓΆhme "Bauerngaumen" π€:
"I don't know what's wrong with me today, but this rum doesn't knock my socks off either. I find it somehow ordinary, although I have to admit that the alcohol is very, very well integrated. After a longer period of standing, the rum becomes more accessible and I increasingly taste something like sweet cardboard. The subjectively perceived improvement after breathing for a long time just manages to get the rum over the 80-point mark. I'll have to taste it again. But I certainly don't need a whole bottle."
Rum Sponge No. 5
Top review from cigares :
"On the nose, a mix of dark flavors and masked fruit. But also wood shavings, resin and old varnished wood. The palate is balanced, even if the balance is on the dark, woody side. The banana is so ripe that it's all black, tasting like banana peel filaments. The finish is long and woody, like over-brewed black tea. A beautiful rum that tells a story, a story of fruit drowned in old wood (if that's possible)."
Rum Sponge No. 17 ITP
Top review from Oliver:
"In a blind tasting, I would have guessed a blend of Long Pond and (very good) Belize. Extremely exciting profile. Very approachable yet complex. Atypical and very exciting character. A real highlight in the RumSponge tasting!"
Rum Sponge No. 24
Top review from Thunderbird:
"Blindtasting Enmore 1990 No.7: This bottling seems to have a finsh again... and is again not my taste. Too fruity and too artificial. The actual Enmore profile is thereby suppressed But I think that this one will also find its friends"
Rum Sponge Exclusive Edition No. 3
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the WLP. Fruit, lots of fruit on the first nose, with a slight diesel and metallic edge. The palate attacks quite strongly, then quickly fruits, diesel and the same metallic side as on the nose. The finish is on wood and a light menthol that refreshes, it's long and the notes of machine shop arrive in force with wintergreen. A Caroni of fruit and freshness."
Rum Sponge NAS 15 (2005 & 2007)
Top review from Oliver:
"Classic Foursquare profile with a great sweetness and pleasant creaminess. Coconut, honey and nice spice. The reduction is very well chosen and the alcohol very well integrated. Makes really fun. I like it very much!"

"#4216 This ibe is better than its brother from Clarendon but I would again have loved a higher ABV. Fruity with some esters and wood all in good balance. Draws very nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some herbs and spices."

"Love the online tasting with Angus and the other RumX participants. This is a very easy drinkable Barbados rum. Very smooth, almost silky on the palate with some fruit and spices. The empty glass is really nice and reveals some chocolate and raisin. Love the funny label they chose π"

Top review from DomM:
"Nose akin to other 2007s with tropical fruits, green apples adding menthol with some time in the glas. Very nice. Very distinct MM on the palate as well. I do miss some complexity, however. Nose was more promising than the delivery you get from sipping. All in all a very solid bottling, but not top of the range MM(W) in my book."

"#4857 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Wood, fruits, light dried fruit, light coffee, chocolate, light caramel, spice. Palate Round, balanced, medium spicy, light wood, spice, dried fruit, light caramel, natural sweetness, light dry. Faint cherry. Finish Long and warm, round, light oily, wood, light roasted, light chocolate, light nutts, light cherry. A very nice rum that you should give a try if you get the chance. It needs to rest for a few minutes while you warm it in your hand to fully open up."

"#4215 This is a pretty decent release though I would have liked a higher ABV. Something is missing because of the relative low ABV. Fruity with nice balance between the elements. The wood is not taking over even after so many years. Draws nice curtains and the empty glass has some light chocolate and coconut."
