"I love these high ABV releases from Kill Devil because they usually hit the mark. From opening the bottle you get the fruity ester notes and as the poured rum "cures" in the glass the flavours can be picked up from the other side of the table. I love the oily texture and the nice roasted woody notes that blend very well with the fruit and spice notes."

"A very nice WP and at a very affordable price at release. Fruity with nice wood and spices. I really like the caramel hiding in the profile. The ABV has been well integrated. Needs to rest for a good while before it settles. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the nose is wonderful in the empty glass."

"25.09.2021 A friendly tasting with friends and colleagues. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, medium intense, wood, light roasted, light tea, plum, light citrus. Palate Medium intense, oily, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, plum, light nutts, pineapple, faint smoke. Finish Medium to long, oily, wood, faint smoke, light caramel, prunes, light nutts."

"30.08.2019 A nice evening with good friends and a few rums. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Light, faint roasted wood, fruits, plum, light caramel, faint chocolate. Palate Light roasted wood, plum, faint citrus, light coffee, faint chocolate, medium dry, faint coconut. Finish Medium long, light wood, faint coconut, medium dry, light chocolate, faint caramel."
