"02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 5 Notes Very dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, plum, light berries, faint smoke, spice, light orange. Palate Oily, balanced, wood, berries, dried fruit, plum, light tannins, faint chocolate, light coffee. Finish Medium to long, wood, light tannins, prunes, light chocolate, raisin."

"Wow, ein klasse Demerara. In der Nase überwiegend Schokolade, aber auch Malz und Fass sind zu erkennen. Am Gaumen dann ebenfalls überwiegend Schokolade (dunkle), aber auch Kakao und Holz sind zu erkennen. Alkohol super eingebunden, gefällt."

"I really like the candied fruit and banana nose, with some sweet spices mingling with the woodiness. There's even a hint of solvent after opening. On the palate, it's a spice-driven rum with some tropical fruit. The finish is medium-bodied, with a hint of licorice mingling with the spices. It's pleasant, but for a Trinidad I expected better."

"Looking at the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. A very fruity and sweet rum with some spices and nice roasted wood. The caramel in the profile could have been a bit more subtle, but some like it 😊 The empty glass is really nice and has even stronger flavours."

"19.12.2020 Nice tasting shortly before Christmas in a private area of the bar. Unfortunately this very old bar closed down in 2023. Notes Medium dark colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, leather, workshop, spice, light fruit, cherry. Palate Light, light wood, cherry, light caramel, nutmeg, light floral. Finish Short to medium, light wood, naturally sweet, dried fruit, light, spice."

"Un sample pris au German Rum Festival 2024. Un beau nez, ample avec des fruits tropicaux, du boisé léger et des notes gourmandes pâtissières. L’atelier mécanique est en arrière-plan. La bouche est acqueuse, diluée avec presque pas de saveurs. Je peine à repérer les marqueurs Caroni. La finale est courte avec de légères notes de pâtisseries. Pas du tout un mauvais rhum, plutôt facile à boire. Mais en aucune façon à la hauteur de ce que’on peut attendre d’un Caroni 1996."

"#4774 10.07.2024 Sampling a bit at home. Nose Light wood, fruity, banana, overripe, faint caramel, light nutts, spice, ester. Palate Oily, warm, round, light wood, fruity, light nutts, light caramel, faint chocolate, faint floral, banana, ester. Finish Medium long, light wood, light caramel, faint citrus, ester, light banana. The empty glass has light herbs and sweet toffee. Needs to rest for a good while to settle properly. I'd prefer this rum in a mixer and that's going to be my next experiment."

"Fumé et légèrement fruité et frais au nez à l'ouverture dans le verre, trop alcooleux au bout de qqs minutes avec l'aération. Aucune gourmandise en bouche, que du fumé/épicé. Passable, et encore, uniquement pour les amateurs de ce type de rhum. Finale courte"

"Als Mitbringsel aus Frankreich geschenkt bekommen. Oft erhält man Rum-Trinker ja eher solche Abfüllungen geschenkt, die ich gerne als Supermarkt-Rum bezeichne, weshalb ich mich über diese Abfüllung besonders gefreut habe. Auch wenn diese Abfüllung nicht in der oberen Liga des Landes auch nur ansatzweise mitspielt, so handelt es sich doch um eine spannende Abfüllung. Blind hätte ich hier vielleicht sogar auf einen Whisky getippt, da das durchaus leichte, rauchige und fast schon süßliche Profil nicht ganz zu dem passt, was man mit Guyana verbindet. Zusammen mit einer leichten Kräutrigkeit ind vielleicht einer Spur Honig schließt sich dann allerdings der Guyana-Kreis doch noch irgendwie."
