50th Anniversary Rum
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Pusser’s 50th Anniversary, was released to celebrate 50 years since the Black Tot Day. It’s limited to 4498 bottles and I was lucky to get three of the last bottles for sale in Europe. It’s a blend of rum from three different DDL stills (quite a lot from the Port Mourant wooden double pot still I believe) and two different Trinidad stills. The five different distillates, then Three years old, was thereafter blended at WIRD in Barbados and aged for four more years before bottled at ABV 54,5%, same ABV as for Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof."
Deptford Dockyard Reserve
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This limited edition is released by Pusser’s to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Black Tot Day, July 31th 1970. It’s named after the naval base Deptford Dockyard where the Navy’s most important spirit depot was established in 1742. At the depot there was around 30 storage vats that accommodated and aged more than 250,000 gallons of rum. This rum, the Pusser’s Deptford Dockyard Reserve, is a blend of high esters rum from Guyana, Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados just as the rum was in past. Today most of Pusser’s rum is a blend just from Guyana. It’s aged for a minimum of three years in charred oak bourbon barrels before bottled at Gunpowder Proof level, 54,5%."
„Nelson‘s Blood“ Aged 15 Years Navy Rum
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"With a beautiful label and a fantastic story around “Nelson’s Blood” it’s a pity that it’s not produced anymore. I really hope it will come back, hopefully in a Navy strength version cause that would balance the sweetness in a good way."
Coronation Reserve (2023 UP Spirits Edition)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a very nice rum which gives me, right or wrong, a feeling of a genuine rum similar to what was served onboard. It’s a limited edition from Pusser’s that was released to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla. It’s made from Pot Still as well as Column Still rum from Guyana and Trinidad that’s aged for a minimum of three years in charred ex-bourbon barrels whereafter it’s bottled at ABV 54,5%."
Aged 15 Years
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Some call this new 15yo for “Nelson’s Blood”, but it’s definitely not the same. This one isn’t nearly as sweet as the “Nelson’s Blood” and there isn’t written “Nelson’s Blood” on the label either. Overall it’s a very good rum, but probably quite long from what a Navy rum tasted way back in time. I would say if you like the other rum in Pusser’s range you will also like this one. The same goes for if you like the El Dorado 12 or/and 15, but think they are a little too sweet."
Green Label Overproof Select Aged 151 (Green Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall I think it’s balanced and smooth. It’s a blend of rum from Guyana at 75,5%. There’s as far as I know two older versions of the Overproof. The oldest on with a blue label at 75% is a blend of rum from Guyana and Trinidad. Thereafter they released a green label at 75% with a blend of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados which I believe went quite short lived. The big difference between this one and the Green Label 75% is that the Demerara impacts even more and that it’s a little bit less round in taste."
Gunpowder Proof Spiced
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This relatively new spiced rum from Pussers have replaced the old one at just ABV 35%. Pusser’s says it’s blended to Admiralty specifications at ABV 54.5% and aged for a minimum of three years in charred oak bourbon barrels whereafter it’s mellowed with a subtle blend of spices. The finish is rather long, thanks to the 54,5%. It’s okay to drink neat and much better than the old one. I believe it could be great in cocktails and drinks."
Gunpowder Proof (Black Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s possible to find the Gunpowder Proof in three different blends. The oldest one consists of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados. After that it came with a blend of Guyana and Trinidad rum. The latest one just consists of different rum from Guyana. The one I review here is the latest one. I think it’s quite complex with a good balance between sweetness and dryness."
Original Admiralty (Blue Label)
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Very distinctive rum. I cannot say it is a good rum, but it is full of curious olfactory surprises. In my opinion it renders better in the nose than in the mouth. Many nuances on the nose, coffee and well-roasted caramel predominate on the palate with a faint woody note. Medium finish with coffee predominating. The banana that I felt lightly on the nose disappeared on the palate. Fun rum for an out-of-the-box tasting."
