"A discovery! A nose of varnished wood, banana, carambola, cinnamon stick and spices. A frank attack on the palate, but the alcohol never takes over. The aromas develop harmoniously: applesauce/banana, yellow fruit, pink grapefruit with a hint of herbs. A very complex wine. The finish is long, with all the aromas present. A delicious, expressive and complex rum with perfectly integrated alcohol. It's noted as being made from cane juice, but I think it must be made from molasses too. Tasted again and still as good, balance being the key here."

"Very spicy. Not a typical HD ... ok low Ester was clear but he comes across very different. I'm a little bothered by the smoky especially when he has breathed well ... Otherwise little fruit alcohol very concise."

"Fine parallel tasting of RX20517 and RX21400 Both 2009s, both 13 years old, both around 63%. So they should be similar. Yes, that's true on the nose: both slightly minty, the TWJ a little smokier, the Roots a little woodier. But what a difference on the palate! The TWJ is really super nice, with perfect TDL DNA, beautifully balanced and minty. But the Roots is brute! Pure mint. Really challenges the tongue. It tingles. I like that very much! Conclusion: I feel a bit sorry for the very good TWJ, but the popping Roots is the clear winner of the evening."

"Spontaner Vergleich zwischen dem RX15990 und dem RX50. Es sind zwar verschiedene Jahrgänge, aber wie immer bei Foursquare sind beide Abfüllungen auf einem hohen Niveau mit den typischen Geschmacksmarkern. Für mich hat der RX50 aber die Nase vorne."

"Good Savalle nose rich in dried fruit, dark fruitiness, sweetness, malt, spice and a little coffee. On the palate, the flavors are similar but a little weak on the chest: the dilution on one side makes it nice and soft, but also a little thin."
