"Is often called the King of Hampden - and especially in direct comparison with other representatives of the already extremely exciting 1993 vintage, the outstanding quality becomes more than clear. The balance can only be described as famos - here nothing negative stands out: overripe fruits meet vanilla, caramel sweetness, dark spices and light roasted aromas. Superb!"

"Quite solid continental Caroni, fortunately bottled at high alcohol strength. Typical Caroni profile, compared to the tropical representatives, this bottling lacks a little balance, because the heavy wood sweetness is hardly found. Who likes Caroni, is well supplied here, but to the absolute top class is definitely missing some points."

"A New Yarmouth with a beautiful label. The nose is somewhere between Demerara, with salted butter caramel and spices, and Jamaican rum, with tropical fruit and a light varnish. The palate is surprisingly smooth, but immediately complex and full-bodied, with toasted almonds and very little ester. The finish is infinite and magnificent, with spices, varnished wood and tropical fruit. A great NY experience. The empty glass is very fruity, very Jamaican."

"Jour 20 du calendrier Samples de Luxe. Regoûté un an et demi après. Whaou ! Le nez explose avec du citron vert, des fruits tropicaux, un peu de vernis et de la colle. Ouch ! La bouche est alcoolique, mais aussitôt les saveurs la tapissent. Colle blanche, raisins au rhum, citron vert encore, vanille et bois. La finale est longue, un peu trop sur la colle pour être parfaite. Les fruits reprennent leurs droits dans le verre vide avec de la compote aux pommes aux épices et à la vanille. Un rhum excellent, puissance et équilibre. Dommage pour sa finale qui lui fait perdre des points."

"A zase nové plnění, tentokrát od Samaroli. Není to těžké caroni, ale ani lehké bez technických tónů. Ve vůni i v chuti je kromě benzínové techničnosti, kůže, medicinálních tónú a gumy jasně cítit i jemná nakouřenost jak ve vůni, tak v chuti."

"This is not a cheap bottle but it fully lives up to the price. The nose is that of a fresh full bodied rum with lots of candied fruit as well as vanilla and a hint of mint. The palate is smoky and woody with nice fruits and spices trailed by leather, caramel and a light earthy and caramel note. The finish is long and woody with spices and tropical fruits and a hint of tobacco. Would have loved a higher ABV. Remember to rest for at least 15 minutes before nosing and sampling :-)"

"Very lovely rum. Nose: A large fruit basket (litchi, lemon, prunes, pineapple) mixed with some fresh flowery notes. Mouth: It starts with an untypical grappa taste… but when you let it rest in your mouth for about 30-60 sek it will open up and you can find some delicious notes. Unfortunately, a bit thin, powerless… due dilution… The finish: is delicious and medium long. The alcohol is integrated very well"

"Le jour 4 du calendrier Samples de Luxe. Regoûté un an et demi après. Une évidence de nez jamaïcain, raisins au rhum, glace Jamaïque en concentré ! Mais aussi du massepain et des agrumes. Bouche avec de l’alcool mais intégré, arômes funky sur la retenue. Des agrumes encore plus présents (kumquats). Un rhum moins démonstratif que d’autres, mais équilibré et savoureux. Une finale longue et riche mais pas très complexe. Décidément, et contrairement à beaucoup, j’aime beaucoup le mark LROK. On se sent à la plage avec un punch aux fruits tropicaux."

"Jour 13 du calendrier Samples de Luxe. Regoûté un an et demi après. Un nez de Jamaïque classique, sans trop d’esters avec un côté végétal (rhubarbe, menthol) et des fruits (ananas surmûr). Les fruits attaquent en premier, puis l’alcool, un côté huileux très agréable. De beaux amers et du rôti finissent ce rhum, presque trop d’amers même. Mais la longueur est là avec un bois léger. Un nez superbe, mais la bouche et la finale sont un peu trop heurtés."

"With this bottle, the screw cap was a shock to me. I would not have expected that at this price point. But back to the rum. Vanilla and leather on the nose, and a nice young minty trinidad on the palate, a bit woody, with well-integrated alcohol and a medium-long finish that warms up nicely."

"#4530 16.12.2023 I think the price doesn't match what you get but that's how is is sometimes. Medium fruity rum with some natural sweetness to it. The palate is light and well rounded with fruits and caramel. The finish is short to medium maybe because of the ABV that I would have loved higher. Draws nice curtains in the glass. The empty glass has a faint rubber note."

"02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 6 Notes Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, light citrus, faint pineapple, faint chocolate.
