Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 22 REV
Top review from Oliver:
"My REV reference! 🤓Suspenseful lavender notes on the nose. The typical prune note is rather subtle. Great roastiness that goes in the direction of coffee. Then intense and creamy on the palate. Dry with just the right amount of bitterness. Those who like black tea will love this profile. The finish brings back memories of Guiness. By the rather more restrained plum (compared to other REV bottlings) this bottling fully meets my taste! Rightly so, the RumX community has chosen this rum as "Best Rum 2022"."

Top review from cigares :
"RumX Awards 2023 and re-tasted 6 months later. Despite its age, the esters are very present without dominating. Buttery, nicely acidic, lemony, overripe banana, grilled bacon and yellow fruit make up a nose that remains balanced despite its complexity. The attack is lively and explosive, with fat (butter) tempering the fire and fruit filling the mouth. Yellow fruit (pear and apple) and young wood. The finish is long, elegant and fresh. No flaws here, everything is clean and precise. The wood is perfectly integrated. The fruit remains right to the end. In the empty glass, you discover an unprecedented sweetness, with the wood clearly perceptible. The favorite rum of this top RumX selection."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 31 (Navy Blend Rum HQNB)
Top review from Jakob:
"Definitely not a straightforward Navy blend. Impressive complexity, much Jamaican influence, the high age is clearly recognizable. Mint, eucalyptus, tropical fruits, wood, spices...impressive! As a lover of complex rums, I feel perfectly picked up here. Definitely not a standard Navyrum because the heavy Guyana notes are almost entirely underrepresented, but that doesn't change the fact that this is an exquisite release. Chapeau!"

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This was my contribution to the tasting and once we cracked open the bottle the flavours started spreading. Fruity with roasted wood and very good ABV integration. I really like the floral note and warm/spicy touch to the palate. Price to quality is very good in my mind."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 10 Don Pancho Origenes
Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Heute Nochmals probiert.... Karamell, Vanille Schokolade und etwas Holz alles schön verbunden trotzdem liegt für mich der Bellamys vorn zumindest im direkten Vergleich. Schöne leichte Süße ... kann man sehr gut Trinken."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 25 DOK
Top review from DomM:
"Nose is very nice and intense. Lots of fruits and funk to begin with. After some time to breath, spices and some smokiness shows up. Very enjoyable yet demanding given the high ester level. High intensity on the palate as well: lots of fruits and ester notes. A bit of sweetness to balance the overall profile. Still quite lively while the cask took off the harshest edges."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 39 Guyana REV
Top review from RumTaTa:
"Tasting in parallel with the Nobilis RX12424. The nose brings typical Guyana REV notes. First and foremost, dried dark fruits, oak, toasted aromas, burnt sugar and malt. The Nobilis seems a tad more intense. On the palate, the roasted notes increase again and dominated the first impression. Gradually, the other components shine through and create a balanced picture. The finish is the most interesting for me because wonderfully spiced plum jam and raisins appear here. Bitterness is also there but within reason. This is the kind of rum I like to enjoy in winter in front of the fireplace. This rum is confusingly similar to the aforementioned Nobilis possibly the alcohol is better integrated in the Rum Club Ed 39."

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Richtig schöner Agricole Single Cask. Extrem rund und komplex. Tolle Fass Auswahl!! Definitiv einer der besten "neueren" depaz single casks bis dato. Lässt sich sehr entspannt trinken und ist überraschend süffig."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 44
Top review from DomM:
"Comparatively closed up on the nose. Rather wood forwards on the nose as well as on the palate which reduces the liveliness of the profile somewhat. Enjoyable bottling with all the right 2000s TDL markers, just not my favorite out of the bunch."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 41
Top review from RumTaTa:
"What a beautiful Belize rum! Very powerful, intense, lovely nose with grated coconut, vanilla and dried fruit. Reminds me very much of a good Foursquare rum. Convincing on the palate again: I find all the aromas of the nose again. The alcohol makes quite a lot of steam. Better with water! The aftertaste tends to be slightly toasty. I can say without thinking twice: this is the best Belize I've had in my glass so far. I particularly recommend this rum to those who have previously enjoyed Spanish-style rums and generally as an introduction to rums at cask strength and for experimenting with the addition of water. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat!"

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"I have The Duchess in my glass alongside the new Rumclub Ten Cane from 2008. My first impression is that the two rums form the poles of the spectrum of the 2008 Vintage's profile. The Duchess is super dark in the glass, bringing a deep berry flavor and dark spices. The Rumclub is much lighter - a few shades lighter in color. Aromatically, this Ten Cane is closer to some TDLs: peach, almond, ginger. There are also similarities, but I find it difficult to describe them - most likely in the woodiness, the spiciness - a rather opposing Trinidad style? The differences outweigh the differences for me. I would always consider the Rumclub to be a TDL - I even find the characteristic mint. But the agricole notes of the Duchess are missing. I'm not sure if I'm completely off the mark here, but this smells like a TDL. I can't get off this horse: Peach mint iced tea in the mouth. The finish is long, smooth and full of peach menthol. Well ok, I think it's clear what I'm trying to say. At the end of this review, I no longer believe that these are two poles of a vintage, but two completely different distilleries. The rum is still very tasty. Roughly on a par with the 2009 TDLs. I poured myself an old sample of an RdL Ten Canes and the new 2008 Swell TDL. The similarities to the TDL are very great here, the differences to the RdL Ten Cane not so pronounced. This calls for a second round, preferably blind."

Top review from Oliver:
"Wow, this is really fun. Plenty of power in the nose and on the palate - without being too strenuous. There's a pleasant fruit brandy/grappa note on the palate that I've never had in a rum before. Exciting bottling!"

Top review from Galli33:
"It‘s a very good complex and delicious rum with a nice lovely fruity/roasted/woody Profile. Only minus is that tje Alcohol could be intergrated better. If you add some drops of water, it will help a lot. For me one of the best rums of 2021 Nose: fruity, banana, blackberry, overripe fruits, mandarin, apricot, alcoholic, varnish, ginger, spicy, tobacco Mouth: Full bodied, strong, dry, elegant, intense, oak, vanilla, roasted, spicy, dried fruits, dried currants, banana, green apple Finish: medium long, astrigend, dry, delicious, young wood, oak, tannins, burnt sugar #bottlekill"

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"The Ed. 39 from the Rumclub, a 2006 REV (RX16863), is already a very successful bottling, but RX16863 is no match for the Rumclub's new stroke of genius, especially on the palate. It is rounder, more complex, deeper, fuller-bodied, stronger, more palatable, sweeter, oilier. And I'm not saying that because I live in Berlin and am therefore close to the source. See for yourself. This is supposed to be a 2008 Diamond? It really seems to me that the barrel was mixed up and a REV was sent to Spirit of Rum instead of the Diamond. And not a 2006 REV, but actually a 1994. Can that really be the case? I hope there will soon be a comment function here, then I could read your direct reactions. For me, this is a hot contender for rum of the year without hesitation. Drink it and you'll agree with me. If it is a Diamond after all, which I hope will be verified by tasting experts, it seems to me to be most similar to the MDXC profile from 2004 (RX7442). Or perhaps the 96 (RX10043, RX10046)? 🤔 I'll stick with REV 1994 for now. 😉 Exciting!"

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Had a nice evening with friends and a few good rums. Once rested this is a really nice and fruity release. I like the funk and esters in the profile and also the citrus notes in the background. Overall pretty good but the price is too high in my opinion."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 36 MDS
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Blindly I would have guessed REV (malt, licorice, molasses, gentle) in the smell, KFM (earth, wood, leather, black tea, strong) in the taste. Definitely 100% Guyana and quite to my taste. A very fine droplet at a comparatively affordable price. I'm afraid I'll have to stock up on this rum. 😋 Update 2023-07-29: Slight downgrade from 89 to 87 points: The rum lacks a bit of fruitiness to play at the top."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 38 Belize Rum
Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Chocolate, nuts, slightly coconut. Somehow also something slightly floral and menthol. Slight spiciness on the palate .... nice sweetness. Here again these floral notes ... as well as chocolate and nuts. All in all, a good Belize with hardly any recognition value ... which doesn't make it any worse, just not really different from the others."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 29 Belize Rum (DOK Cask Finish)
Top review from Galli33:
"Normally i‘m not a huge fan of belize, but this one is really special. The DOK finish brings in a fantastic note and is a good mix with the typical fruity notes known from Belize. Update: I took home a bottle, to share it with some friends. The nose is still like on the grf, but in mouth it‘s has less impact of the DOK finish. It‘s a pity… The finish is very delicious and a mix of various oak barrel notes paired with fruits and licorice. It last very long and leave an astringend feeling on the tongue. All in all it‘s an amazing Belize, for me a nice daily sipper 🤪🤪"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 26 Agricole Rum F.W.I (Ex-Gardel Finish)
Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: after about an hour in the glass develop aromas of buckwheat honey, I like better than the first time ( 2). Nose: first I perceive typical Agricole aromas and walnut. Then spices wood and then dried fruit.Seeeevery mild, alcoholic sharpness is practically absent.Palate: the rum seems watery in the mouth at the beginning. But that changes surprisingly: the flavors take over and then the alcohol is also feltAftertaste: it remains mainly Agricole notes hang. From Gardelfass I notice nothing, but also do not know what I have to look for. Possibly the barrel is responsible for the toasty notes."
Rumclub Private Selection HD 2000 Ed. 21 LROK
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Compared to the previous one you get far more with this release. Equally high quality, would have loved a higher ABV, but you get what you get 😊 Fruity with smoky wood and lovely spices. Oily and nicely warm on the palate and the empty glass is wonderful."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 23 BMMG
Top review from Galli33:
"This is a very atypical but delicious Rum from Mount Gay🤤Blind you’ll never say this is a MG 😅 The alcohol is integrated well. Some atypical tastes in mouth and finish with some notes of licorice, tobacco and a nice taste of the oak barrel. It‘s an awesome everyday rum with a good price per value ratio. I see this one slightly behind the 2000 MG from S.B.S Update: Found some nice licorice and rubber notes 😜 The second sip was a lot better, more impressive. By far the best from mount gay🤤🤤 enjoyed it a lot"

Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Oh, I can't even taste a country, let alone a distillery, it's not sophisticated, but simply fantastically balanced and sips away, that's how it should be!"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 14 Nanny of the Maroons
Top review from Christoph:
"A madness this smell! A true fruit explosion without being off-puttingly sweet. The only criticism would be the somewhat sharp finish ... this rum was therefore actually the first I drank with a few drops of water, which takes away the sharpness in the finish and emphasizes the fruit notes even more."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 33 FSDP
Top review from Frank:
"First impression at the HanseSpirit:Fulfills exactly the expectations I had and whose fulfillment I had hoped.Fruity, oily, pleasant workshop aromas...Nachtasting follows. So, and now again in peace at home:Nose: totally pleasant, spicy-fruity, with this special oily texture, which together with pencil shavings and some varnish or glue reminiscent of the fumes from a precision engineering workshop. Interesting also an intense yogurt note that underscores the subtle fruity sweetness. In fruit here gooseberry with lime together with canola honey. The over 60% is very well integrated here. 86Palate: initially that oily, artificial attack again, slightly salty-bitter, with pencil mien. Slightly resinous and something like polish to it. The fruit is again reminiscent of gooseberry, this time with lime zest. Also, the yogurt note comes through clearly again. I really like it. 84Must correct the rating from yesterday significantly upwards. Now 85 instead of 80. Very nice Fiji profile!"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 28 Cudjoe (Aged Ghana Rum)
Top review from zabo:
"Messebewertung: Village'23 Trotz seines sehr jungen Alters eine wahrhafte Explosion, das Hampden Finish kommt klar zum Vorschein. Wahr positiv überrascht, nur mit dem Preis bin ich mir noch unsicher, ob dieser dies rechtfertigt. Guter aber noch ein wenig zu ungestüm, aber das DOK Finish kommt klar zum Vorschein"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 37 (Navy Blend Next Generation)
Top review from Galli33:
"Super delicious easy going Navy daily sipper. I would like to taste it it “real” navy strength 😜 Perfect to bring your friends to hoist the sails into the rum adventure. Aaaarrrrr Nose: Hampden Mouth: Mix of Foursquare and Guyana"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 34
Top review from Thunderbird:
"An exciting rum, with intense flavors! Somehow from two different worlds, on the one hand Agricole, on the other hand more towards molasses. The interplay between fruit, plant aromas and spices provides an experience on the tongue. The longer it lingers and especially in the finish, the Agricole note comes out. I like quite well"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 30 (Hawaiian Rum)
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
Rumclub Private Selection Triangulation
Top review from Dr.Django:
"The Rum Club from Berlin always delivers. This is also the case here. I can clearly taste TDL and some funk from Jamaica here. When I try to taste Reunion, it reminds me of some CDI Savanna Traditionell representatives. The mouthfeel is very pleasant and surprisingly aromatic, with a slight bitterness. The finish is relatively short. Overall a little watery for my palate. I would definitely recommend this rum to any newcomer."
Rumclub Private Selection Jamaica Rum Red Barrel
Top review from Thunderbird:
"The fact that this rum was finished in red wine is obvious! The color cast is too clearly visible. This almost suggests a wet finish. On the nose, the influence of the finish is just as noticeable (red wine/kumquat) and I also detect some caramel. It spreads thinly and lightly on the palate. Initially, this grape/kumquat note again, which then gives way to a nutty caramel/cream toffee note. Alcohol is well integrated. The finish is on the herbal, bitter side. This bottling is not for me, but should find its friends"
