"It is clear from the first whiff: we are dealing with a HERR. Wild, overripe pineapple and mango, strawberries and olives. Wow! On the palate, there's a pleasant crispness. Overripe strawberries, apricots and mangoes again. The tropical 8 years in a cognac barrel round it off successfully. Outstanding release!"

"Tasted again with two 2002 T.D.Ls The high rating here is fully justified. This one is less minty and herbaceous and much more on the fruity-sweet side, and clearly more elegant (+1). This bottling and the presentation of the bottling raises a lot of expectations. Unfortunately, I don't have a drop of the Private Garden No1 left for a direct comparison and have to rely on my notes and memory. I definitely find the cassis note on the nose. There are also other red fruits (sour cherry) and a fresh note (mint). The alcohol is a shade better integrated than I remember from Private Garden No1. WOW on the palate again! Lots of fruit (cassis and sour cherry), a good portion of barrel influence (oak, slightly bitter), less in the floral direction. Mint is also there but not as much as in PG No1. The transition to the finish is dominated by blackcurrant and barrel notes, which remain medium to long. There is a clear similarity to PG No1 and it is neither better nor worse."

"28.03.2024 Retasting at Swell de Spirits Masterclass and I stick to my score. Won a few points đ ------------------------ #4069 Thanks to a good friend I got these nice Swell de Spirits and they perform pretty well. This is the last of the samples and also a great one. Intense and fruity, one might say dirty as well. Great balance between the elements and I like the rubber note in the back. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some herbs and nutts."

"Wow. Definitely in my top 5 best foursquare rums I've had so far. Incredibly drinkable, aromatic and complex. Unusual but awesome is especially this light green chili note that perfectly complements the otherwise typical caramelized coconut, banana chocolate note. I would have bought me in any case gladly! Since you can quickly times accidentally make the bottle empty in one eveningđđ€€"

"An absolute beast of an agricole Blanc. The 64% is noticeable but overall well integrated. On the nose pure sugar cane with this Guadeloupe partly typical medicinal mineral note and little fruit. Then on the palate pure sugar cane, some tart honeycomb, pear, bitter orange, bitter licorice and vanilla bean without the core. The finish warm and heavy and slightly bitter medicinal. Not quite mine neat but in ti punch it shows what it can do. Heavy, thick and oily, the licorice is suddenly gone and Williams pear and ginger and honeycomb emerge instead. Very tasty!"

"DĂ©gustation online RumX et Swell de Spirit, mars 2024. Du bois vernis au premier nez, de la mirabelle et de lâabricot, de la banane sur-mĂ»re et de la mangue, du caramel au beurre salĂ©. Les fruits dominent en bouche, surtout lâabricot et la chair de mirabelle. Du boisĂ© mais aussi une belle fraĂźcheur. La finale est longue et partagĂ©e entre les arĂŽmes sombres et la fraĂźcheur et les fruits. Un rhum complexe, Ă©volutif, Ă©quilibrĂ©. Une trĂšs belle sĂ©lection."

"RumX and Swell de Spirit online tasting, March 2024. Tasted blind, I was surprised by a vegetal, bubble-gum side that reminded me of Savanna. But the depth of aroma and the dirty side belonged elsewhere. Dom found and everything fell into place (everything is much easier when you know ;-) a Caroni from December 1998. The palate is powerful, with aromas of mechanical workshops and burnt caramel. But a myriad of aromas lurk behind, with freshness, fruit, umami and even a floral edge. The extremely long finish is well-balanced, with all the aromas present on the palate and a hint of smoky wood."

"RumX and Swell de Spirit online tasting, March 2024. Dark on the nose, with woody notes, but also fresh with menthol and pastry-like with vanilla and coconut. The attack is quite lively, with pastry, umami, vanilla and pineapple taking center stage. The touch of varnish adds depth. For me, the finish is a little disappointing, as it feels shortened despite its balance and complexity. The empty glass reveals a vegetal, tobacco and even floral side, absent from the palate and nose."

Edit: In the comparison test with other Fiji, this one is in the top third in my opinion and is one of the best Fiji bottlings I've had in a glass. Evaluated quickly when bottling. I like it quite well at first glance. But will have to compete against other Fiji again."

"This is a special TDL, not as classic as I was used to, but very tasty. The nose is very fruity and soft, I also perceive a slightly nutty, savory aroma. On the palate it is very creamy and initially exudes a heavy sweetness, followed by fruit, chocolate and later slightly dirty nuances... very pleasing, the whole thing, The finish is characterized by light wood, vanilla, roasted nuts and sweet fig. I like it very much"

"On the nose, I would be more likely to be blind to a cognac than a rum - let alone a Worthy Park. On the palate, the rum profile becomes clearer, but the typical cognac fruit flavors are still quite present. "TDL nose: woody, minty and fruity. Surprisingly greedy. Engaging. On the palate, it's surprisingly progressive. Woody frame and light mint envelop brown sugar, discreet coconut, zesty spices, orange and a mocha impression. The taste evolves with time. The finish is rather long, cocoa-like, lemony, minty and bitter. Once again, Swell is the bomb! The bottle has just been opened. In 15 days, after oxidation, it'll be even better! Can't wait. Edit: tested with a drop of water to reduce the strength a little, and I think this rum would have easily withstood a reduction without it altering the interest, on the contrary."

"Un vĂ©ritable OVNI parmi les TDL. Cet embouteillage de chez Swell de Spirits propose quelque chose quâon ne retrouve pas dâordinaire, et cela a le mĂ©rite dâĂȘtre soulignĂ©. Le nez est perturbant, avec des notes de tourbe, de fumĂ©, des notes pĂ©trolifĂšres sur lâessence, un chĂȘne Ă©picĂ© et pimentĂ© et un brin de sel. Il dĂ©gage aussi une aura caoutchouteuse, mentholĂ©e et terreuse. Lâombre du fĂ»t de Caroni fait son effet ici. Original, complexe et trĂšs intriguant. En bouche, le profil reste fidĂšle Ă lâimage du nez, et tout aussi perturbant : la tourbe est trĂšs prĂ©sente, suivie de notes fumĂ©es, dâhydrocarbures, de tabac, dâherbes, de menthol et de boisĂ© rĂŽti avec des Ă©pices. Wirkt er an der Nase noch lange tropisch gelagert, aber irgendwie unspektakulĂ€r, hat er am Gaumen fĂŒr mich zu wenig Minze, dafĂŒr aber eine gewisse Ruppigkeit, ist mir da zu anstrengend, zu herb. Noch ist im SampleflĂ€schchen etwas drin, ich muss ihn noch mal verkosten. Heute jedoch "nur" gerade so 80 Punkte."

"A great rum in my eyes. I love the Velier Isautiers and this one goes in exactly the same direction. Hardly any grassy agricole notes, more a hybrid of molasses and sugar cane juice. The cognac cask comes out positively and provides the sweetness. For me, this is one of the top bottlings from Swell."

On the nose, the pop is more on the spicy side with allspice, cask, but also fruit base, baking spices and pineapple. Spicy and tasty on the palate. Overall, no wow effect, but a tasty and relaxed sipper."

First of all, finally keep to your release date đ Otherwise there's not much to say about it, it delivers what you'd expect, but it's not a mega-bringer either neat or in a daiquiri that stands out from other bottlings. A good average rum that has a higher price compared to others of the same quality, as usual with Swell."

"Ein recht guter an der Nase und am Gaumen intensiver Marie Galante⊠neben den klassischen frischen pflanzlichen Aromen erscheinen an der Nase sĂŒssliche FrĂŒchte, die am Gaumen in Richtung Bitterorange wechseln. Ebefall gut wahrnehmbar ist ein schwere SĂŒĂe. Im Abgang wechselt es dann.. eine merkwĂŒrdige medizinische Bitterkeit ist angangs sehr prĂ€sent, bevor sich ganz spĂ€t die typischen pflanzlichen Agricole-Aromen bemerkbar machen. Der Abgang kostet leider ein paar Punkte. So bleibt er gerade noch sehr gut. PS: ich habe ihn gerade im Ti Punch..da ist er hervorragend đđđ»"

"I would first describe it as a nice experiment. On its own, it is a broadening of the horizon, a new kind of flavor that I am not familiar with. A little bit of mescal and cinnamon, triggered by Mexico, is at the back of my mind. It's also drinkable in a daiquiri, but doesn't completely convince me here either. We'll have to wait and see if it becomes more accessible for me once it's been in the barrel for a few years."
