"RumX and Swell de Spirit online tasting, March 2024. Dark on the nose, with woody notes, but also fresh with menthol and pastry-like with vanilla and coconut. The attack is quite lively, with pastry, umami, vanilla and pineapple taking center stage. The touch of varnish adds depth. For me, the finish is a little disappointing, as it feels shortened despite its balance and complexity. The empty glass reveals a vegetal, tobacco and even floral side, absent from the palate and nose."

"What a beautiful Belize rum! Very powerful, intense, lovely nose with grated coconut, vanilla and dried fruit. Reminds me very much of a good Foursquare rum. Convincing on the palate again: I find all the aromas of the nose again. The alcohol makes quite a lot of steam. Better with water! The aftertaste tends to be slightly toasty. I can say without thinking twice: this is the best Belize I've had in my glass so far. I particularly recommend this rum to those who have previously enjoyed Spanish-style rums and generally as an introduction to rums at cask strength and for experimenting with the addition of water. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat!"

"Surprisingly fruity aromas combine the Belize profile, which is characterized by heavy sweetness, coconut and oak notes. With a little time in the glass, a lot more happens here, the sweetness and the aromas of red berries enter into a dynamic interplay, into which a few tart spices and roasted barrel notes also enter. Not quite a typical Belize representative, but a thoroughly appealing combination."

"once again a very horny and unusual Belize Rum! 67.1% are definitely noticeable, which needs >15 minutes time to breathe! then comes really a wacky note of lemon, bergamot, as well as floral tones of elderberry, sandalwood, eucalyptus and baking spices to the fore, the typical pineapple note is here rather in the background.taste then very thick, oily and concentrated, the whole mouth virtually stuck with glue, dark chocolate, sandalwood and bergamot, as well as mocha and macaroons and caramelized meringue with some lemon zest,fat! overall very balanced despite the high % number. And an extremely unusual long finish...."

"Incredibly horny nose of passion fruit honey, kumquat jam and honey with banana bread or also taste the whole thing continues, is extremely sweet and at no point too woody but very fruity with beautiful notes of orange peel, honey, candied fruit, candied ginger, bitter sweet kumquats, banana bread and honey. This one is fun!"

"Excellence Rhum a sélectionné ici l’excellence du Bélize. Le nez est intensément gourmand avec les notes pâtissières : toffee, caramel, viennoiseries, praline, biscuit et sucre brun donnent l’impression de confectionner un gâteau. Le chocolat, la vanille, le piment, la muscade et le bois rôti amplifient la rondeur du profil. La noix de coco et le raisin sec viennent apporter du fruit et rafraîchir le tout. Un nez riche, sucré et généreux. La bouche est un contraste saisissant entre puissance et gourmandise. Les notes sucrées et pâtissières décrites plus haut viennent inonder le palais, tandis que les épices (piment, muscade), le bois et le tabac viennent chauffer le profil avec l’alcool. Ce dernier est relativement bien intégré vu son degré et le fait qu’il soit noyé dans la douceur. On retrouve également le chocolat au lait, le café et la noix de coco avec le raisin sec. Le profil est rond et extrêmement gouleyant, pour le plus grand plaisir des papilles. L’aération lui fait également du bien. La finale se veut légère et sèche, débarrassée d’une partie du sucre contenu dans le liquide. Il réside une trace épicée, chocolatée, cafeinée et surtout boisée, avec un peu de coco et de caramel en prime, mais cela reste moins marqué. Un Bélize particulièrement savoureux et intense, qui n’a rien à envier à d’autres sorties du genre."

"#4461 09.11.2023 This one needs to rest or the ABV will bite you. Once rested it's a really nice Travellers. Fruity with wood and light chocolate. The palate is spicy yet fresh and fruity. Long and warm finish. The empty glass has stronger chocolate notes and some roasted wood."

"I picked up this rum inspired by the positive reviews, but was disappointed given the price (96 euros, but I would sell it no more than 40). A good Spanish rum, but just not in my league. Sweet at high proof, no surprises from the aromas other than some coconut notes and a distant back taste of barrel. The alcohol is not well integrated."

"Debut of Wolfgang Klotz as an independent bottler. A typical Belize? It arrives with a lot of steam, at least on the nose, and needs time to catch its breath. At first, it is strongly reminiscent of the almost classic FRC from 2006, with typical coconut, vanilla and oak, plus more and more sweet fruit notes. Surprisingly sweet on the palate, the brute strength is definitely there but is well balanced by the sweetness and makes this rum extremely drinkable."

Belize bringt unterschwellig etwas Milchschokolade, geröstete Kokoschips, Sahnekaramell, Salz und Honigbanane & karamellisierte Ananas, gebackenen Pfirsich, sowie starken Pfirsich eistee mit wird aber fast schon von den rauchigen und intensiven noten vom caroni Fass dominiert... Im Abgang etwas frisch nach Piment und Menthol...Insgesamt Richtig geiles Zeug!! Geile Kombi die hier geboten wird! Das Wechselspiel zwischen Belize und caroni finish ist für mich einzigartig und daher auch die hohe Bewertung. Großes Kino für jeden Tag, welches weder überfordert noch unterfordert. "For me this one was really strong. First sip and I said to myself that this will be a big NO for me. I let it sit in the glass for a while and tried it again. Really like the combination of those flavors, especially that buttery texture. So if you will have a chance to try this rum, pour it and let it sit for a while, you will not regret it."

"Normally i‘m not a huge fan of belize, but this one is really special. The DOK finish brings in a fantastic note and is a good mix with the typical fruity notes known from Belize. Update: I took home a bottle, to share it with some friends. The nose is still like on the grf, but in mouth it‘s has less impact of the DOK finish. It‘s a pity… The finish is very delicious and a mix of various oak barrel notes paired with fruits and licorice. It last very long and leave an astringend feeling on the tongue. All in all it‘s an amazing Belize, for me a nice daily sipper 🤪🤪"
