14.12.2023 Retasting this one and it's still an amazing release. Despite the bottle being almost empty it has retained its beautiful flavour and balance. Would love one on my shelf but it's a bit expensive ☺️ ------------- This is a great rum with a long time in the barrel. Despite the age the wood is not super dominating and that makes this a very well balanced rum. The nose it lightly fruity and brown sugar with clear caramel right off the bat. After resting you get toasted wood and light coffee notes. The palate is very well balanced, oily and continues where the nose left off. Fruity with caramel in the front followed by nuts, chocolate, wonderful brown sugar and toasted wood. The finish is medium to long with spices, wood, cocoa and raisin. There is a light salty touch in the finish.

Im Vergleich zu anderen Dictador-Rums erinnert mich dieser Single Cask sehr stark einen Travellers Rum aus Belize. Tolle und runde Aromen, die einen leckeren spanischen Rum machen. Dominant sind die nussigen, röstigen und braunen Aromen und Gewürzen, gefolgt von schwachen Früchten. Im Mund mit 50% rund und würzig, etwas pfeffrig, ein paar Prozent mehr angemessen gewesen. Insgesamt solider Rum, wobei der Preis etwas hoch angesetzt ist.

02-09.04.2022 This was crazy week, where some friends and I rented a nice summerhouse on Rømø. The plan was to go nuts for a whole week with different rums without going overboard. The final agreement came to 6 rums a day and then enjoy nice walks or ferry rides during the day. Day 5 Notes Very dark in colour. Nose Sweet, wood, light chocolate, faint mint, caramel, light herbal, faint coffee, dried fruit. Palate Sweet, wood, light herbs, faint nurrs, light coffee, cinnamon, caramel, light cherry, light raisin. Finish Medium long, sweet, wood, dried fruit, light chocolate, light caramel, faint herbs.

An der Nase sehr deutlich Wein mit den assoziierten roten Früchten, aber auch Banane. Wirkt zusammen mit einem starken Holzeinfluss aber zu dominant, da andere Aromen wie Milchschokolade zu sehr im Hintergrund sitzen. Im Mund sehr mild, süß, beerig, schokoladig und etwas dünn. Mit 41% definitiv zu stark verdünnt. Im Abgang natürlich wieder Portwein, Schokolade und Honig. Der Preis ist in Anbetracht der Verdünnung zu hoch.

Un rhum qui se laisse boire, mais clairement pas exceptionnel. Son profil est assez basique, avec des notes sucrées de caramel et de sucre brun, mais rien qui ne surprenne vraiment. Il manque de profondeur et de complexité, surtout quand on compare à d’autres rhums dans la même gamme de prix. Cela dit, il reste agréable pour un moment convivial, sans prise de tête. À mon avis, c’est un rhum qu’on achète plus pour se faire plaisir sur le moment que pour ajouter à une collection

Well, that was really a miracle bag for the Underdog Split #3. As I had two bottles of it to split, I noticed when filling that one bottle was clear, the other already had recognizable barrel deposits. That's why I tried both at the same time. The one with the fuzz in the bottle was good, the other was strange. Not really a ripper, sorry. But with cola it's quite drinkable for a quick buzz.

Hatte ein bißchen Angst vor diesem, da Rum und Orange für mich nicht passen. Überzeugen konnte auch dieser nicht. Natürlich hauptsächlich Orange in der Nase, am Gaumen ebenso und viel zu alkoholisch. Hat einen sehr beißenden Geschmack. Nicht meins.
