Exception 2024
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4927 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruits, caramel, light coconut, spice, light nutts, vanilla, faint chocolate. Palate Balanced, oily, wood, faint roasted, light salty, light caramel, faint nutts, faint honey, light orange. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, light caramel, spice, light orange, faint coconut, faint chocolate."
Rivers Royal Grenadian Rum
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The distillery founded in 1785, still produce their rum as it was done back in that time. The cane is crushed by a waterwheel driven mill. It’s wild fermented. They don’t use any temperature control and the double retort copper pot stills is heated with dried Bagasse. Finally it’s bottled straight from the stills. They use sugar cane juice instead of molasses, but it’s not an Agricole cause they use different methods. Overall it’s a funky rum rich on esters and congeners. It’s probably not for everyone, but I just love everything around it and I think it beats the Jamaican white Overproof’s."
Virgin American Oak Foundations
Top review from TheRhumhoe:
Rum Artesanal Grenada Rum GMWE
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"Am Anfang recht flache Nase, die sich dann aber etwas entwickelt. Zitrone, Mirabellen, leichte Würze und Menthol. Im Geschmack dann zum Glück intensiver mit den gleichen Aromen, aber einer intensiveren Mirabellennote und einer leichten Säure. Störend fand ich vorallem den spürbaren Alkohol in der Nase."
Renegade
Top review from Galli33:
"This is my first ever rum from grenada! And this one is really special… I found some strange notes like medicinal, plastic, rubber, phenol, petrol reminds me on a Savanna HERR/Lontan, but it‘s also a bit on the dirty side (i wouldn‘t say caroni like). Those notes are overwhelmig all the other notes like wood, oak, herbal, floral, sugarcane, a bit fruity (citrus?!). All in all it‘s a special one, for sure, but a good one. The alcohol is integrated well and fits in perfect. I‘m still undecided, if I should order a bottle or not… 🤔😬"
Cuvée Nova (All-Island)
Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"Grenade is one of those terroirs that are emerging in the world of rum and leave no one indifferent. This cuvée has strange aromas halfway between vegetal and phenolic, some slightly medicinal notes that come close to a form of plastic, all wrapped up in more conventional flavors (vanilla, chili, cinnamon, baked apple, dried fruit, sugarcane and toasty woodiness). Original and strange. The palate confirms the nose's impressions. The spicy woodiness, with its hints of toast and leather, meets this phenolic-vegetal combination, giving a surprising aftertaste. Fruit is also more present, with berries and pineapple. The rum lacks a little grip on the palate. The alcohol is well integrated into the whole. The finish is not very long, but merely affirms the feeling of a young, atypical but rather promising rum. Sugar cane, dried fruit, spices and roasted notes combine with mineral aromas for a zany but not unpleasant mix. It will be interesting to see how these profiles play out after a few years' ageing."
Rhum Blanc Pre-Cask New Bacolet
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is from the latest release and I was very surprised about the fresh fruity nose and palate. Very balanced and only lightly dry. Just leaving it to rest will release very nice flavours from the glass. Price to quality is very good."
Pre-Cask Hope (Boulders)
Top review from Galli33:
"Well... A difficult case here😬😬 Some guys love the rums from Renegade, but a lot of them don’t like them, because of the strange character.😆 I found this one relatively good, less mechanical workshop flavors, but more sugar cane and vegetal aromas."
Rhum Blanc Pre-Cask Old Bacolet
Top review from Galli33:
"I’m a bit disappointed… I expected a bit more “garage feeling” notes 😎😬 It remind me on a Clairin, but a more balanced and enjoyable one. Nose: fermented, vinegar, vegetal, olive, grass, hokkaido pumpink 😎, sugarcane, hones and a cool raspberry note Palate: olives in a salt lake, grass, raspberry, sour, charred Finish: medium long fruity and vegetal"
Rhum Blanc Pre-Cask Dunfermline Pot Still
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bought a bottle of this rum to a really good price from Catawiki. This is my first, but hopefully not my last, Renegade Pre Cask Single Farm Origin rum. Renegade bottles its Pre-Cask rums farm by farm and terroir by terroir. The Defermline is released as two different distillations, column an pot still. It would have been very interesting to taste them side by side. The cane used is Lacolme Red grown at the Mango Land on the Anderson’s field which was a part of an distillery closed down after the hurricane Ivan 2004. The finish is quite long and goes on as in mouth and palate. Overall a very good and distinct rum with some similarities with Rhum Blanc from Guadeloupe."
The Spirit of Art
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4120 I was looking forward to this old rum but it was rather disappointing. Even after a very long rest the ABV was still kind of dominant masquerading the other flavours. Roasted wood comes in second followed by sule fruit, spices and caramel. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some tobacco and leather notes."
Études New Bacolet (Upper Combe)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Tasted this interesting cane juice/Pot Still rum at Sweden Rumfest 2023. The Etudes is the second step in the Single Farm Origin development. The first step was totally unaged Pre Cask rum from different areas in Grenada. This is the distillate released 2021 as Pre Cask New Bacolet now aged for 18 months in first fill American Oak Casks and Premium French Oak Casks."

"#4818 17.08.2024 Tasting with Mads from Romhatten. This is also a retaste that I didn't have time to add. Nose Medium intense, Agricole, light wood, faint roasted, fruits, spice, light coconut. Palate Oily, medium intense, agricole, light grass, fruits, light citrus, light coconut, spice, faint wood. Finish Medium to long, warm, light roasted wood, light citrus, faint olive, light coconut, vanilla."
Six Saints Madeira Finish
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The nose is nice. In mouth the tastes come rather late, but then it’s strong just as the long finish. There’s very little information about the Six Saints rum, but it’s distilled at GDL. The brand is owned by Crucial Drinks based in Scotland, but it’s still an open question if it’s bottled in Grenada or Scotland."
Six Saints
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This rum from Crucial Drinks has clear similarities with Clarke’s Court Old Grog also produced by GDL. The nose is fruity with aromas of banana and citrus. At the palate and during the medium long finish it’s fruity and spicy with flavors of nutmeg, banana and citrus."
