The Vieux Labbé (20th Anniversary)
Top review from Jakob:
"Intensely tart fruit, wood, spices. I like it, independent profile. Still somewhat incisive on the finish. Beautiful structure. Aromatic-intense to demanding, but quite appealing - has rightly found its fans."
Clairin Sajous
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"I like even better than the already extremely good 2018 bottling. Is more complex with a very nice fruity berry note. Otherwise also green and grassy with lots of sugar cane and pronounced ester notes. One of the best white rums!"
Clairin Ansyen Sajous (LMDW)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a very nice Clairin and price to quality is very good. The nose is fresh and fruity with varnish, and wood as well as light earthy and floral notes. The palate is complex, balanced and very well rounded and fresh with brown sugar, fruit, vanilla and light floral tobacco notes. The finish is medium long and sweet with dried fruit, wood and light vanilla."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"A great rum! You can feel the initial strength of the alcohol, but the aromas that come after a while are well marked and you don't have to sniff the glass for too long. A firm, old-fashioned rum. On the palate, in addition to a fruity and vegetal component (where olives stand out), this aftertaste of solvents/esters never unpleasant stands out. Very long finish where in turn all the previously perceived flavors are felt. Predominant on the finish is a hint of peat/smoky always accompanied by solvents/esters.Unique!Velier nailed it! Long live Velier!"
Clairin Sajous
Top review from TheJackDrop:
"Perhaps the most balanced and fruity of the clairins I've tasted. There's clearly a touch of olive and funk, but above all beautiful fruit, perhaps apricot and mirabelle plum in addition to banana, mingling with a hint of vegetal, and some sweet vanilla flavors. A sprinkling of spices to keep things interesting, and paf!"
Vieux Sajous (LMDW)
Top review from Thunderbird:
"The successor to Sajous is quite similar to its predecessor, but doesn't quite come close. It is much tamer than the latter, which some people may like better, as it is somewhat rounder and more palatable. The range of aromas is very good and varied (fruit, spice, sugar cane)"

"#4882 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, fruity, faint wood, faint tannins, light varnish, light earthy, light floral, light sugarcane, cinnamon. Palate Balanced, fresh, light wood, spice, cinnamon, light floral, light herbal, medium spicy, faint ginger, sugarcane, oily, fruits. Finish Medium long, medium spicy, oily, fresh, faint floral, faint varnish, faint tannins, light wood, fruits. Pretty well balanced release and I look forward to seeing the price in the shops. It is usually sold out pretty fast, so if you need one catch it from the start."

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"This Clairin from Velier is incredibly strong with strong peat/smoke and solvent aromas. Slight presence of olives.Compared to the Sajous it lacks more fruity notes.Great rum!Clairin Rums are true rums that have not altered over time and retain those fermentation and distillation processes of yesteryear. They are among the few rums left to give us a historical memory of what this great distillate was like. They are our past and at the same time our future!"

"#4517 09.12.2023 This is also a nice and fresh release. Medium fruity with nice floral notes. I love the might smoke in the profile. The finish is medium long and warming. The empty glass has a light perfume note."
Clairin Ansyen Vaval 39 Mois Julian Biondi (ex-sherry)
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Great rum! Marked sherry and grape aromas with woody notes. I initially underestimated it then began to appreciate it. In my opinion the former sherry cask affected the rum too much, a bit like what happens with former whiskey casks."

Top review from cigares :
"Un rhum dégusté au WLP. Un nez frais et expressif, sur le côté végétal avec quelques épices et comme un côté tomate. La bouche a une attaque souple et les fruits montent en arrière-plan, agrumes et tomate. Tout est en équilibre. La finale est plutôt longue pour un clairin, une belle note herbacée et légèrement fumée conclut la dégustation. Regoûté dans de meilleures conditions et je l’ai trouvé bien meilleur."
Clairin Vaval Ansyen 41 Months (The Last Port)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4519 09.12.2023 Pretty nice release as well. Medium fruity with nice balance. The palate is warm and fresh with fruits. The finish is medium long and fresh with a light cherry note. The empty glass has a light flower note."
Clairin Ansyen 19 mois (Ex-Caroni)
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"From an ex-Caroni cask I would have expected a more pronounced Caroni flavor, but it must be said that it ended up being aged very little. Great rum, fragrant and surely much better experts than me will be able to find more nuance in it. Very light the unmistakable tar flavor of Caroni. Velier as always, through its perseverance with the triple A rating, has released a noteworthy bottle. Velier gave me emotions that few others have been able to do."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"31.12. 2019 Last tasting of 2019 went into 2020. Celebrating with family and friends who like rum we ended up having a great party according to my notes. Notes. Transparent in colour. Nose: fresh, intense, fruit, herbs, polish, sugarcane, floral. Palate: Intense, spicy, oily, sugarcane, polish, citrus. Finish: long, spicy, citrus, anise."
Clairin Vieux Sajous - Second Release
Top review from Frank:
"VSGBNose: not a classic Clarin, the oloroso cask has mellowed it considerably. Fruity it is, apple and honeydew melon with a little vinegar. In addition something vegatibles, maybe artichoke, green with something, like chamomile. Palate: hui, seems very sweet, sherry sweet, so quite full-bodied. Cherry, plum and dried, sulfured apricot. On the palate, the sherry fizz - as so often, or almost always - clearly drowns out the actual rum. If you like that, it is quite tasty, but for me always too monotonous and interchangeable. So also here."
Clairin Communal Ansyen (Blend des quatre communes)
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"In my opinion, at the moment, white clairins are much more interesting. The absolutely agreeable choice to age them is interesting, but still these rums fail to really take off. Certainly they have their own unmistakable imprint in the aromatic bouquet however, the work needs further improvement."
Clairin Ansyen (Blanton Cask)
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Forgive me, but blindfolded I would have sworn by the smell that it was a Jamaican, ester alert! On the palate, however, things clear up very quickly: no ester, but a distinctive smoky note. I still like it. Finish a little too short. Update 2022-11-30: Today an attractive balance of sweetness and smoke on the nose (2 points upgrade), but sour and hay-like on the palate (2 points downgrade). So it remains at 83 points. Solid stuff, this Clairin."

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"Number 6 from the community tasting. Thanks Rumtata! Jamaica from Haiti - blindly I would have packed this into the Mid-East range from Trewlany. The rum is fruity and very round. This is delicious, but also a bit unspectacular because the Clairin-specific but very much in the background."

"12.10.2024 Romhatten Velier tasting. Retasting and I still like it, price to quality is very good in my mind. ----------------- #4565 20.01.2024 Relaxing a bit today ☺️ This is a nice release with nice fruits and light spices. The glue and solvent notes are light and actually becomes the profile. The palate is oily, warm and naturally sweet with some added anise. The finish is medium long and also lightly sweet. The empty glass has medicinal and faint smoky notes."

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Ingwer, Schwarztee, Pfirsich und Muskatnuss deutlich kräftiger und der Alkohol könnte etwas besser integriert sein. ich bevorzuge hier Ausnahmsweise Mal die Trinkstärke! ;) einer der besten Single cask Haiti bis dato aber!"

"#4854 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, medium intense, fruity, banana, spice, sugarcane, light medicinal, faint clove. Finish Long and warm, faint wood, fruits, pineapple, oily, light citrus, ginger, light herbal."

Top review from Lukas Jäger:
"Spannend.
Clairin Vieux Vaval & Casimir (Whisky Live Paris 2021)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4568 21.01.2024 Having a go at a few more samples. Very nice rum especially when looking at the price upon release. A bit more specific notes. Nose Light wood, very fruity, light glue and marzipan, medium vegetal note. Palate Well balanced, light wood, fruity, spicy, light vegetal, nice herbal note. Finish Medium long, medium dry, fruity. There is a faint sugarcane note in the profile."
Clairin Ansyen Vaval (Mount Gay Cask)
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"Number 5 from the community tasting. Thank you RumTaTa! Nose: Aniseed on the verge of ouzo, plus liquorice. Then overripe apple, crumbly Boskop, yellow fruit. Towards the back, minty herbs arrive on the nose, reminiscent of the dirty TDLs. Mouth: also aniseed and licorice. In the mouth, the barrel comes in as young oak with the corresponding vanilla. Mint and hay can also be found. I wouldn't have been able to classify it blind, it's most likely a young, dirty TDL. Really delicious. It's a shame that it's no longer available."
Clairin „Batch 2“
Top review from Joachim Guger:
"Chemie, Gras und schwarze Oliven und dabei sehr komplex. Klingt nicht gut und sicher nichts für schwache Herzen. Aber trotzdem interessant und gar nicht so schlecht. Der Punk-Rum, die Sex Pistols hätten ihn geliebt."
Clairin Ansyen 21 mois #CARCA1 (Kirsch Whisky)
Top review from Frank:
"Mein zweiter Clairin im Caroni-Fass ausgebaut. Casimir anstatt Sajous.
