The palate is complex, balanced and very well rounded and fresh with brown sugar, fruit, vanilla and light floral tobacco notes. The finish is medium long and sweet with dried fruit, wood and light vanilla."

"31.12. 2019 Last tasting of 2019 went into 2020. Celebrating with family and friends who like rum we ended up having a great party according to my notes. Notes. Transparent in colour. Nose: fresh, intense, fruit, herbs, polish, sugarcane, floral. Palate: Intense, spicy, oily, sugarcane, polish, citrus. Finish: long, spicy, citrus, anise."

"Forgive me, but blindfolded I would have sworn by the smell that it was a Jamaican, ester alert! On the palate, however, things clear up very quickly: no ester, but a distinctive smoky note. I still like it. Finish a little too short. Update 2022-11-30: Today an attractive balance of sweetness and smoke on the nose (2 points upgrade), but sour and hay-like on the palate (2 points downgrade). So it remains at 83 points. Solid stuff, this Clairin."
