XO Founders Reserve 2nd Edition
Top review from LukaŽiga:
"7,8:On the nose we find strawberry, banana, orange, syrupy liquorice, with abundant but balanced spices. We don't necessarily find the brand's typical "Christmas spices", but a more woody, nutty notes. Aeration brings out pastry notes with cookies, sweetness is here. Everything is here, from butter to sweet spices, cereals and nuts. 7,5:The palate matches the nose, sweetness exhibits, with a buttery cookie topped with almonds. Coated with a nice vanilla liqueur, the rum is round, sticky and syrupy. In the background, there's a slight concentration of exotic fruit that carries the whole through to the mid-palate. 7,5:The finish is round, sweet, with a cookie baked with sweet spices and caramelized butter..."
Platinum Reserve Small Batch No. 1
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"07.12.2023 retasting and it lost some points. Very sweet release. ----------------- This rum is a blend of solera rums where one set is aged up to 40 years and the other for up to 21 years. All aging has been done in Europe so a very controlled aging process. This is another of those rums where people can agree to disagree. A sweet rum that is pretty well balanced. The price tag is a bit high compared to what you get."
XO 175 Anniversary Rum
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is definitely a rum for the fan base of A. H. Riise. Sweet like the usual rums from this company. The nose is sweet and fruity with a tad of smoke and mint. The palate is very sweet and the fruitiness continues from the nose. Creamy charred mint and vanilla. The finish is short to medium long and sweet with orange and oak. A tad too sweet for me but it will probebly have a huge fan base out there. "
XO Founders Reserve 1st Edition
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Like most of the Riise range this rum is also kind of sweet. The first release of three XO Founders Reserve. Not a bad rum parse but I would have loved more kick with a higher ABV. Fruity and vegetal with a roasting note to it."
Green Label Overproof Select Aged 151 (Green Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall I think it’s balanced and smooth. It’s a blend of rum from Guyana at 75,5%. There’s as far as I know two older versions of the Overproof. The oldest on with a blue label at 75% is a blend of rum from Guyana and Trinidad. Thereafter they released a green label at 75% with a blend of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados which I believe went quite short lived. The big difference between this one and the Green Label 75% is that the Demerara impacts even more and that it’s a little bit less round in taste."
Gunpowder Proof Spiced
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This relatively new spiced rum from Pussers have replaced the old one at just ABV 35%. Pusser’s says it’s blended to Admiralty specifications at ABV 54.5% and aged for a minimum of three years in charred oak bourbon barrels whereafter it’s mellowed with a subtle blend of spices. The finish is rather long, thanks to the 54,5%. It’s okay to drink neat and much better than the old one. I believe it could be great in cocktails and drinks."
Gunpowder Proof (Black Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s possible to find the Gunpowder Proof in three different blends. The oldest one consists of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados. After that it came with a blend of Guyana and Trinidad rum. The latest one just consists of different rum from Guyana. The one I review here is the latest one. I think it’s quite complex with a good balance between sweetness and dryness."
Royal Danish Navy Strength Rum
Top review from zabo:
"Received as a bonus sample from Rhum Attitude, thanks for the fact that you get something like this in a plastic sample when you order high-quality rum. Unfortunately, I have no other opinion about the rum than that it is simply extremely sugary water with rum flavor. Typical extremely sweetened spirit drink. That's why I simply can't give it a good rating."
Black Barrel Navy Spiced Rum
Top review from Steffmaus🇩🇰:
"In my opinion this should likely not be drank neat, as it has more of a cocktail-wise characteristic. It is spicy in the nose, and in the notes I found vanilla, cinnamon and caramel. It works rather well in cocktails with ice"
Royal Danish Navy Naval Cadet
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Another sweet release and I hope that in the future they will reduce the sweetness a bit because it really doesn't become well at all. I do also know that they want to make rum for the masses and beginners....."
