"Edit: Three Guadeloupe '98s tested against each other. My ranking today 1. Milano Rum Fest 2. the Rum Cask 3. Colours of Rum In contrast to the Colors of Rum I've had so far, this is definitely a step up. Balanced and drinkable, I'll be adding another bottle for myself."
Exception
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A wonderful Bellevue, actually an exceptional one when push comes to shovle. The nose is a wonderful mix of fruits and spices with some rubber and varnish. The palate continues where the nose finishes. A complex and very balanced rum with spices and fruit. On top of that you find caramel, mint and some roasted wood. The finish is long, warm and spicy with spices and licorice and a hint of prunes. Highly recommended :-)"

Top review from Galli33:
"Very lovely delicious rum from bellevue. Some really caroni like tastes of tar. The wood of the barrel is dominant, but the alcohol is integrated well (seems like 45%). Overall a very nice bottle from nobilis. Nose: Tar, licorice, spicy, nutty, roasted, almond, walnut, caramel, apple, orange, plum, mango, herbal, floral Mouth: round, elegant, delicious, full bodied, dry, oily, complex, balanced, strong, tar, caramel, tobacco, licorice, roasted, ginger, dark chocolate, spicy, roasted nuts, woody(oak) Finish: long; dry, delicious, woody(oak), licorice, roasted nuts, dark chocolate, tobacco, black tea"
Kill Devil (The Whisky Barrel)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Amazing how fruity this rum is especially on the nose considering it is 20 years old. Fully ripe melon, juicy cherry, banana and some burnt rubber, dark chocolate on the nose but no trace of wood. Taste then subtly woody , chocolaty, cherry but still fruity and oily fresh after tobacco and menthol as well as various citrus peels and some chocolate. Very complex Bellevue, could only be a little less bitter for my taste. Nevertheless, definitely one of the best Bellevue I had so far in the glass."
Kill Devil Guadeloupe
Top review from Thunderbird:
"Cross-tasting from the Kill Devil, Milano Festival and TRC anniversary. All three need a lot of time in the glass to develop their aromas. The Kill Devil is more on the dark side. Barrel and wood aromas are clearly present, but not unpleasant. They are not overpowering. All three also have very well integrated alcohol. For me, the Milano is my favorite. The TRC and Kill Devil are almost on a par"

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"We had a wonderful tasting at my birthday party on Friday. Very relaxed and cosy. Very complex and kind of heavy rum, what's not to like :-) Not as fruity as I'd expected but nice and woody with smoke and chocolate. After a few hours the nose is wonderful in the glass. Dry with a long finish."

Top review from cigares :

Top review from Jakob:
"Already in the nose waits a very own green note, reminiscent of tart herbs and unripe vegetables. On the palate more balanced, tea, wood, fennel, spices - thereby overall extremely dry and thus rather on the tart side. Even if the Bellevue DNA remains recognizable, it is a rather unusual representative of the 98 batch with a clear impact on the herbaceous-green side."

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Guadeloupe 1998 Bellevue I had now already some but none like this: reminds me but actually of the old Courcelles from 1972 by this blatant strawberry jam and bitter orange jam note, which is rounded off by some wood, leather, vanilla, ginger and minimal orange flower water and menthol / mint and slightly bitter black tea. Very awesome and very elegant and especially unusual for this vintage! I really like it and better and better the more I drink it...."

Top review from Frank:
"A beautiful old Guadeloupe with a rich nose and a powerful yet balanced palate.Nose: intense and concentrated, spicy and fruity at the same time. Ripe lemon, kumquat and black currant bring sweet and sour freshness, blackberry and date heavy sweetness. Fragrant wood comes through now as well, accompanied by vanilla, caramel and some cream toffee. Slightly smoky at the back. Has something of port. 87Palate: concentrated, compact yet round and balanced. Spicy-fruity-woody. Hard to pin down. A mix of light lovage, currant but also something like brioche and caramel. Also seems creamy. Roasted nuts and soft licorice out the back. Interesting and tasty. 89The heavy molasses profile from Guadeloupe really appeals to me."

Top review from zabo:
"Heute im Vergleich zwei 1998er Guadeloupe von Rum Artesanal. RX693 und RX488. Vorab beide sind sehr lecker, aber es gibt bessere aus den 1998er Jahrgang. Schwer zu sagen welcher von beiden die Nase vorne hat. Jeder der beiden hat seine Vorzüge. Tolle Abfüllungen aber leider auch nicht überragend."

Top review from Leo Tomczak:

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Anotjer nice tasting i went to but didn't have the time to add here until now. The nose is very fruity with nuts and caramel and a hint of grass. The palate tales off where the nose ended and this one should be rested because it actually evolves both on the nose and palate. Again fruity with smoky wood, caramel and vanilla are trailing and at the end a hint of tobacco. The palate is oily and very well balanced. The finish is medium long with wood, dried fruit and caramel."
Guadeloupe No. 2
Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: I like the beautiful fruitiness and spiciness better than last time. However, the alcohol is too prominent for "very good". (+2) Tasted together with Colous of Rum Guadeloupe No. 3. The nose of both is almost identical. This one is a touch less powerful. On the palate, this one is a shade stronger. But it lacks corners and edges. It doesn't really convince me, I've had more interesting 1998 Guadeloupe in my glass. Both bottlings seem very similar to me."

"08.03.2024 Tasting with Romhatten. Retasting and I still like it a lot. ----------------------- Had a wonderful tasting event yesterday with only good CDI rums. This one is the third one of the six. Again a bottling for Denmark that hits the spot. A very nicely finished rum from Guadeloupe. Well balanced with a really nice palate and nose. If it's too sharp for you try to add a drop or two of water. Make sure that you rest it for 10-15 minutes before sipping. A must try if you like Guadeloupe rums."

Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Schöner Bellevue schöne zitrus und Honig Noten. Sehr süffig und leicht rauchig an whisky erinnernd. Dazu etwas Kirsche, Schwarztee, Kumquat und Ledersattel mit schwarzem Pfeffer und generell sehr ausgewogen und komplex."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a pretty good release by Moon Import. The nose is fresh and Agricole with fruits and wood, nuts and a hint of iodine. The palate is also Agricole, fresh and well balanced with fruit and light wood. The finish is medium to long with wood, raisin and a light nuttyness."
Guadeloupe No. 3
Top review from Oliver:
"Very pleasant aromatics. Roasty, leather and some cotton candy. Fruit is rather restrained. On the palate creamy, spicy and a heavy sweetness. On the palate then rather dry and a very slight bitterness. I like it very much!"

Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Vielen Johannes für diese Blind Tasting. #No.3 Schön Fruchtig mit etwas Süße und leicht Floral Blumig ordentlich Holz aber nicht störend etwas Nelke schöne Würze. Der Alkohol ist in der Nase wie am Gaumen sehr präsent und nicht wirklich gut eingebunden."
