"A bar in Vienna has an open bottle and I took a sample with me đ Woody, spicy, honey, a little solvent. Let it breathe... Now come more dried fruits, ripe mango and citrus. A melted and heavily roasted bouquet. Good strength. Very spicy/woody in the mouth, perhaps a little thin, but this may be due to the fact that the bottle was opened some time ago. Long, very peppery finish. The highlight of the tasting! đ€© A great, worthy rum full of emotion. A rum I've always wanted to taste. Chantal Comte and Depaz, that makes my eyes light up. đ The book to go with it: Patrick Fermor's "The Violins of Jean-Jaques"."

"Incredibly good barrel strength Agricole! Extremely complex and intense after green and red chilies, some coconut, banana, honey, plum and cherry, as well as ginger and herbs. The whole thing continues the same way on the palate and the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated. In addition, not too woody for such an old agricole. It gets a bit smokier on the finish, with toasted coconut and some green chile coming back.... Damn this one is really fun! đ€€ Probably by far one of the best depaz of all time!"

"On the nose come exciting notes towards green apple, herbaceous freshness, dried fruit, milk chocolate and caramel, but also a fair amount of solvent. On the palate, however, the Depaz comes across quite gruff, alcoholic spiciness, lots of (young) barrel, apple, salty finish. The nose convinces, on the palate, unfortunately, he can not keep up."

"I got this wonderfull sample from Joachim! Thanks man đ€đ» This is an awesome and delicious agricoleđ€€đ€€ Nose: Sugarcane, herbal and floral, orange, leather, cinnamon and licorice. Mouth: Full bodied, less fruity. Finish: Long and delicious. The alcohol is integrated well. Blindly i gave it >45%. Great price per value ratio!!!"

"This was the last rum during our trip to Amsterdam and it was also really good. Price to quality is very good in my mind. The nose is fresh and fruity with wood, cane, caramel and and spices. The palate is balanced and oily with fruits, roasted wood, spices, cane, nuts and light notes of grass. The finish is medium long with wood, tropical fruits, spices and light nutty notes."

"Klassische Depaz-Marker in der Nase. Getrocknete FrĂŒchte, WĂŒrze (vor allem etwas Lakriz), Holz und pflanzliche Noten. Leichte SĂŒĂe. KrĂ€ftig und sehr ausgewogen. Könnte ruhig komplexer sein. Im Mund geht es Ă€hnlich weiter, sehr, sehr wĂŒrzig und reichlich Kraft. đȘđŸ Mittellanger Abgang der zuerst schön prickelt und dann ordentlich wĂ€rmt. Mit etwas Wasser wird er sehr pflanzlich. Toller Agricole. Typisches Depaz-Profil mit reichlich Kraft. đ€©đ€©đ€© Unterschiede zum Rum Club? "#4472 15.11.2023 Sitting here thinking about mortality while enjoying a nice rum. Lost one of my young colleagues yesterday. At the same time major changes in our company has also started thoughts running around in my head. Remember to hug and cherish your family bacause you never know when it's your time. This rum is really nice and fruity with nice Agricole notes. Well balanced and ABV is well integrated. The palate is lightly oily with some chocolate. The finish is long and warm with some nice orange. The empty glass has some chocolate and light licorice."

"Overall a very good Port Cask Finished Agricole that I tasted at the Sweden (Stockholm) Rumfest 2024. It has first been aged for at least 8 years whereafter itâs finished during 11 months in former Port Casks. At nose is oak, vanilla, chocolate and ripe fruits recognizable. In mouth and at the palate is flavors of oak, vanilla and chocolate detectable together with notes of port, hazelnut, dried fruits and cocoa. During the rather long finish is beside the above, notes of jasmine, coffee and plum found."

"A very smooth white agricultural rum. A lovely agricultural freshness perfumes the nostrils, with earthy, herbaceous and vegetal notes, accompanied by citrus fruits (lemon) that round out the angles. A hint of salt underscores the subtlety of the nose. The attack on the palate is ample, supple and pleasant. Citrus and dried fruit dominate the palate, leaving sugarcane and its vegetal notes more in the background. Round, fresh and very well structured. The finish, of decent length, is surprisingly warm, dry and slightly spicy. Vegetal and earthy flavors come back to the fore, in the face of citrus. A very fine cuvée that will delight all Ti Punch lovers."

"Considering the price tag this is a very good rum. Leave to rest for a while to release all the flavours. The nose is fruity with wood and cane as well as light vanilla. The palate is fruity with wood, vanilla, cane and grass as well as a light herbal note. The finish is medium long and woody with grass and vanilla."

I think there are some similarities with the old bottle of Grande Reserve XO which was aged at least 12 years. Itâs very complex and itâs hard to sort out the aromas and tastes."

"Pour un rhum de gamme permanente, ce Depaz a beaucoup de choses Ă offrir. Le nez se pare de notes vĂ©gĂ©tales et florales, avec notamment la canne Ă sucre, avant de laisser place aux arĂŽmes boisĂ©s, aux Ă©pices douces, aux piments et aux fruits secs. Câest Ă la fois simple, efficace et assez complet. Lâattaque en bouche est plus gourmande. Les Ă©pices (cannelle, vanille, poivre) se mĂȘlent aux noix, au chocolat noir, aux fruits secs et aux fruits exotiques pour un profil doux et bien construit. Bien quâon ne soit quâĂ 41% dâalcool, le rhum nâen reste pas moins expressif et trĂšs savoureux. La finale, dâune longueur convenable, nâest pas en reste non plus. "This rhum replaced the 5yo VSOP Reserve du Comte Arthur Dillon when Dillon changed their range, at least by name. Could be the same rhum in a new bottle, even if I donât think so. Itâs quite smooth on the palate and during the medium long finish, for a 4yo AOC Rhum."
