"Edit: Danke Jakob in den Genuss gekommen, ein breites Spektrum von den Fiji 2001 Abfüllungen probieren zu können. Obwohl ich vorher schon einige im Glas hatte, hat mich das Ergebnis doch wieder verwundert, da mein vorheriger Favorit auf dem letzten Platz gelandet ist. Wobei man dazu sagen muss, dass ich auf Grund eines Zeitproblems den meisten keine Zeit zum entwickeln gegeben habe. Deshalb hier das Ergebnis vom Blindtasting, dass von der Bepunktung abweicht. Das ist wirklich einmal ein Plantation und auch noch aus Fiji der mich wirklich überzeugt. Sehr lecker. Danke Vincent für das Sample. Ich muss sagen das dieser mich von den Fijis die ich bis jetzt im Glas hatte am meisten überzeugt hat. Meine Nummer 1 aus diesen Land"

"Fiji 2001 is a promise of a good rum, not infrequently an excellent rum. Plantation has an exclusive pre-purchase deal with South Pacific and so there was reason to believe that Plantation offers here great for little money. Long story short: unfortunately, no. The rum is tame despite an estercount in the Wedderburn range. The typical herbal Fiji markers, which actually harmonize well with whiskey, can hardly unfold. Instead, there is a vanilla sweetness familiar from the 2004s. In the mouth, the whiskey is then very present and partly covers the actual flavors. As is so often the case, Plantation has probably not done very good raw material any favors with the finish and the dilution. This Fiji 2001 nevertheless remains a good rum."

"Fiji light, süß, Milchschokolade, die typischen chemischen Fiji Noten sind andeutungsweise im Hintergrund erkennbar, die Vanille vom Bourbonfass kommt durch, leicht adstringierend. Mir persönlich zu süß und zu langweilig und zu wenig Fiji. Transparenz: kostenloses Sample im Rahmen der Rum-X Masterclass"

"World Liqueur Day! Failing to be at home sipping a Swell de Grandmont, I let myself be tempted by this liqueur. Clearly it's sweet and heavy, but the chocolate and coffee come through well: I'd see it with a touch of cognac and maybe some cream (and ice). Rather than dry."

"This is the post-tasting of the Plantation Masterclass I missed. This is now the 7th rum from it and I've reached the point where I can hardly detect any differences between the Spanish-style rums I've tasted. Again, I can taste coconut and detect only moderately well-integrated alcohol."
