Ron Zacapa Centenario XO (1. Edition)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Many think this is a version of the traditional Zacapa XO, but it's actually been stored for two additional years in French cognac casks. A super smooth rum that literally explodes in your mouth. "
Ron Zacapa Royal
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one changed the score, how the palate changes over time 😊 This is probably the best rum in the Zacapa range. Maybe a bit too expensive for a rum that isn't a limited version."
Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Solera (3. Edition)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This nice sipper has to rest for a while before nosing or you'll get a punch of alcoholic blast. The nose is wonderfully smooth even velvety I'd say. Smoky wood and fruity with toffee and spices. The palate is complex and very well balanced with smoky oak and spices and a hint of the cognac cask it was finished in. The finish is long and sweet with spices and coffee and once again a hint of the cognac cask."
Ron Zacapa Reserva Limitada
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Another Limitada to join in and it does so pretty well. Though sweet it's not super sweet on your palate. Though this is a solera method rum, blended from rums aging from 6 to 24 years, they came out with a very decent rum. "
Ron Zacapa Centenario XO Solera (2. Edition)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This is the Zacapa I like best. I think it’s better than both the “23” and the “Royal”. It’s more powerful and had a deeper taste. It’s also well balanced, smooth and len."
Ron Zacapa LA ARMONIA The Harmony Cask
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Super rum in my opinion. Light caramel and vanilla notes. This rum tastes very strong, still has something of it in the mouth for a very long time, but meets my taste quite well. I hereby give it a recommendation to buy."
Ron Zacapa Centenario White Label (4 Medals)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"The good old zacapa, worlds apart from the current bottlings. Significantly drier, woodier and more complex. Beautiful thing! Too bad that zacapa no longer produces like this..."
El Pasador Gran Reserva
Top review from BTHHo 🥃:
"Strangely enough, it does not carry much through in the taste, which is really nice and buttery smooth. Fantastic balance between sweet and dry - Hint of vanilla and spice, where the spice carries through, but the vanilla leaves quickly, but here we have a nice long and pleasant aftertaste 🥃👍"
Ron Zacapa LA PASION (The Passion Cask)
Top review from TheJackDrop:
"A hair below the other To sum up, my degustation notes: Nose: Charred, Mocha On the palate: Spicy, Burnt sugar Finish: Fruity, Woody Clearly good products, but you've got to like sugar anyway."
Guatemala XO 20th Anniversary Edition
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting at Romdeluxe. Had a relaxing online tasting yesterday and it had a vide spread between low and high end rums. A very well balanced rum. Price to quality is very good."
Ron Zacapa Reserva Limitada
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"02.03.2019 Enjoying some samples with a good friend. Colour Medium dark to dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, sweet, light herbal, fruits, light orange, light anise. Palate Light, wood, sweet, faint smoke, dried fruit, light orange, spice, light pear, light caramel, light anise. Finish Medium long, sweet, light anise, light apple, light nutts, faint floral."
Ron Zacapa Solera Centenario 23
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a very well balanced rum from Zacapa and I like is a lot especially considering the price tag. The nose is heavy with spice and sweetness and a touch of orange zest and chocolate. The palate is well rounded with caramel, honey and chocolate topped of with burnt oak and overripe fruits. It has a long, sweet and fruity finish with burnt oak. I'd say this one is better than the bottling from the late 90s and early 00s that won medals. Price to quality is very good. "
El Pasador XO
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall an OK Latino rum with a little too weak taste. It’s fruity, spicy and sweet without being extremely sweet. Recognizable aromas and flavors is raisins, coconut, vanilla, pepper, chocolate and caramel."
Ron Zacapa Edición Negra
Top review from Tim :
"Very similar to the normal Zacapa on the nose (caramel, fruit), except that smoky and toasty flavors are more represented. In the mouth, the smoke and tobacco then comes through very strongly, which is why drinking becomes a spicy experience. Must like, I do not find it all too good. Price much too expensive! Positive to mention are in any case the chocolate and roasted flavors, which are very pleasant in combination with caramel."
Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 Años
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This was the start of my adult rum journey and many bottles has passed by, but the rating has going down, down, down. It’s much too sweet for me as I have been growing into pure rum."
Ron Zacapa La DOMA The Taming Cask (Heavenly Cask Collection)
Top review from BTHHo 🥃:
"The taste is fruity with hints of banana and pineapple as well as vanilla and wood. Good taste, but pricing compared to Ron Zacapa No. 23 is wrong in my view. But bought a bottle anyway 😎"
El Pasador Ron - 52 - Rum
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"A rum from my early days. I had actually kept it for visitors who first had to be introduced to (somewhat stronger) rum. However, since the sweethearts dared to try it, I have now opened it for myself (on weekdays it can also be something undemanding). And what can I say: it tastes good! Am I falling off the sweet rum wagon? 😉"
Ron Botran Rare Blend Guatemalan Oak
Top review from Werner10:
"A very woody rum. The oak flavors dominate the taste profile with some dried fruits and a bit of vanilla to support it. But with a pricetag of around 80 to 90€ too expensive for what you get imo."
Ron Zacapa Solera Centenario 15
Top review from RUMpelstilzchen:
"Sehr lecker, süss aber nicht zu süss. Angenehm, unaufdringlich. Kaum Schärfe. Richt toll, schmeckt toll. Für Anfänger und Geniesser gleichermassen. Auch im Freundeskreis sehr beliebt. Rundum zu empfehlen."
Botran Solera 1893 Gran Reserva
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Enjoyed this one as it arrived yesterday and despite it being in the cheap end of the spectrum it wa a nice surprise. A nice solera from 5-18 years in the blend. A bit sweet but not too sweet. Leave it in the glass to rest to get the entire experience. Comes off a little bit dry but nicely balanced with the sweet. For the price tag a pretty good rum. "
Botran Ron Añejo Reserva 15 Years
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This rum people can only agree to disagree on. Sipping it i feel like being on an island in Greece. This is a rum on the cheaper end of the spectrum, so considering the price you get a good rum. Probably a good rum for beginners. The nose is sweet and has fruit and herbs to it with a touch of wood. The palate lacks complexity but is sweet with fruits and vanilla and a tad of burnt barrel. The finish is medium and once again the vanilla is dominant with a nice plum on the side. Price to quality is very good. "
Botran Ron Añejo Reserva Solera 1893 18 Years
Top review from Vincent D:
"Unfortunately, this Botran 18 no longer has the gourmandise of my discovery of sweet, caramelized ron. It's pleasant. But it's sorely lacking in depth. At least it's not too sweet. Edit: tasted after a Rum Nation Panama and in fact it easily compares. Less sweet, more woody."
Ron Botran Rare Blend Vintage French Wine Cask
Top review from Felix Reiber:
"An uncomplicated rum that is suitable as a dessert. A little too expensive for the target group it is aimed at. The maturation in wine barrels comes through well, but the 40% vol. weakens the taste a little, which is the case with 90% of all rums with this alcohol strength. The notes of caramel and marzipan are nevertheless very pleasant and persist from the nose to the finish. A good rum to enjoy on the side."
Botran Reserva Blanca
Top review from Trinkfluencer :
"Very alcoholic spicy. The toffee notes from smelling, I taste when groping unfortunately no longer out. Overall, it fills the mouth very full-bodied and warm. However, I lack a flavorful accent that pushes a little in the foreground."
Botran Ron Añejo 12 Years
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Ist soweit ganz okay. In der Nase holzig, Kaffee und Ester. Im Gaumen kommt er dann sehr alkoholisch rüber, auch die leichte Kaffee- und Schokoladennote kann das leider nicht übertünchen. Durchschnitt, mehr nicht."
Botran Cobre
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"The palate is very medicinal almost like a well balanced cough syrup without being too dominant. It has a nice herbal flavour to it with a bit of smoke and sweetness. The finish is medium long with a medicinal/herbal touch to it. Judging it as a spiced rum, they did a very good job."
