"Great Agricole! Nice spice, lots of wood influence and nice peach black tea and dark cocoa and burnt hay, as well as pear notes. Alcohol is a bit too present overall and could be better integrated after 15y, yet this is a very exciting & complex drop and extremely fun!"

"I love the tropical maturation! You can taste the ageing in this rum, it goes in the direction of the Velier Demerara. Amazing! Compared to the 2006 molasses RX16224, this one is almost worlds better, much more complexity."

"A rum balanced in aromas, for my taste far too much. A fine rum, but the column distillation limits its potential. The nose reveals a light roastiness accompanied by dark chocolate, wood and spice. On the palate there is wood, spice, faint roasting/roasting and balsamic notes with a not too long lychee/grape finish. One senses the use of ex-cognac barrels that give it a refined profile close to agricole. A rum that needs attention, but personally not my style."

"Parallelverkostung RX19571 und RX20906 Nehmen sich beide nicht viel und beide nicht ĂŒberragend. Kommen nach meinem Eindruck nicht an den Klassiker von Velier (RX10631) ran. Wenn ich mich entscheiden mĂŒsste, hĂ€tte der Le Gus't die Nase vorn, weil der Alkohol besser eingebunden ist als beim Swell und er auch etwas mehr nach Holz und Cognac schmeckt, wofĂŒr ich immer zu haben bin."

"A great rum in my eyes. I love the Velier Isautiers and this one goes in exactly the same direction. Hardly any grassy agricole notes, more a hybrid of molasses and sugar cane juice. The cognac cask comes out positively and provides the sweetness. For me, this is one of the top bottlings from Swell."

"A rum tasted at the WLP. A surprisingly light nose according to the ABV. Very ripe tropical fruit, a slight smokiness and a citrus edge. The sting of alcohol quickly gives way to fruit that develops with discreet wood. The finish is balanced and rather long. A very fine rum."

"A rum tasted at the WLP. A very aromatic nose, much more so than the Audacieux. Vanilla and caramel, light oak and tropical fruit, citrus. Surprisingly smooth on the palate, given the ABV. Aromas of chocolate and caramel, young wood. All in balance. A long, gently fading finish. A better rum than Audacieux for my taste. An amazing discovery and integration of alcohol!"

"#4940 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Balanced, light wood, fruits, berries, faint honey, light vegetal, faint mineral. Palate Round, light cognac, light vegetal, faint wood, fruits, berries, light mineral, faint caramel, light sugarcane. Finish Medium long, fresh, light wood, berries, faint caramel, light citrus, sugarcane, light vegetal."

"#4007 This only gets better. Slightly darker in colour than the Louis & Charles. Fruity with nice wood and light spices. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass reveals some minty notes and the chocolate is clearer."

"Very interesting. Some rubber, tar, tea. Hardly any Agricole tones in the nose or palate. However, recognizable on the finish. The fruitiness gives way to dirty tones as the glass progresses. Not a world class rum but a nice experience."

"#4006 This one has more complexity to it than the 10 year old release. Lovely fruits mixed with roasted wood and spices. I like the caramel note in the profile. Draws nice curtains and the empty glass is lovely. Price to quality is so good that I ordered a bottle."

"Hmm, for a ten-year-old already quite expressive. Found the rum with its power and unobtrusive sweetness, which was felt especially in the finish, pure really not bad. In a cocktail probably a challenge.Must I try again on occasion."

"Un rhum de gamme permanente avec pas mal de cachet. Le nez laisse sâĂ©chapper de belles notes fraĂźches et herbacĂ©es qui embellissent les fruits, assez prĂ©sents dans les narines (raisin sec, fruits rouge, banane, ananas). Le boisĂ© est lĂ©gĂšrement Ă©picĂ© et mielleux, offrant pas mal de douceur. Un profil pas trĂšs complexe mais assez variĂ© pour ĂȘtre apprĂ©ciĂ© par les amateurs. La bouche fait parler le fĂ»t de cognac avec les Ă©pices (piment) les fruits secs et le raisin. On a un profil assez marquĂ© sur la mĂ©lasse, le caramel, les fruits confits et le sucre brun. MalgrĂ© la douceur, le profil reste sec, lĂ©gĂšrement toastĂ© mais plutĂŽt avenant. Lâalcool est bien intĂ©grĂ©. La finale paye cette douceur avec une longĂ©vitĂ© assez courte. Les marqueurs prĂ©cĂ©dents reviennent globalement : le cognac et les fruits secs sur le raisin, le boisĂ© sec, les Ă©pices (vanille, piment) et le cĂŽtĂ© doux et caramĂ©lisĂ© sont dominants. "Un rhum trÚs réduit pour plaire au plus grand nombre de palais, ce qui a pour effet d'éteindre un peu le goût. Ici, c'est le nez qui est trÚs intéressant avec un profil agricole ou la canne est bien présente, avec un soupçon de bois et une vraie gourmandise. C'est un rhum réunionnais, avec sa typicité si particuliÚre. TrÚs cool."
