"Thinking about the price tag you get a lot for your money in my mind. A naturally sweet and fruity profile with some wood and spices. Well balanced and the ABV has been integrated really well. The empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some mint and medicinal notes."

"This one was not up my alley, but none the less not a bad rum. The nose is fruity with spice and, licorice and wood notes followed by a light vegetal note. The palate is lightly sweet and spicy with fruits and sugarcane. There is some bitterness and tannins there as well and again a light vegetal note. The finish is medium long and lightly bitter with citrus and leather followed by a hint of wood."

"01.11.2019 Den Dansk Rom & Whiskyfestival This was my first visit to this two day event, where everything is included in the ticket. Also the first event where I have seen so many extremely drunk people. This event usually just has what's considered mainstream products, but luckily my friend had the right contacts so for a premium we had our own little collection to go through. Today I get free a free ticket if I want to attend 😊 Price to quality is very good on this release. Medium fruity with nice floral notes. The palate is lightly dry and fruity with nice caramel. The finish is medium long and medium dry with wood and caramel."

"Have had this bottle for quite a while and now was a perfect day to taste it on a sunny afternoon out in the Stockholm archipelago. Rivière du mât Opus 5 is a blend of five different agricultural rums aged for a minimum of 6 years with an average age of 8 years. This is the first time I taste an Agricole from Rivière du Mat. Only tasted molasses rum from them earlier. Overall it’s better than OK, but can’t match Savanna Agricole’s which is still the best Agricole’s from La Reunion in my opinion. On the nose it’s fruity, woody, spicy and floral with aromas of tropical fruits, hay and grass. On the palate it’s fruity and spicy with flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, sugar cane and pepper. The medium long finish is round with flavors of coffee, caramel and cocoa."

"Un rhum de la Réunion qui débute avec un joli bouquet floral, du parfum, des notes de fraîcheur mentholée, quelques épices, des notes fruitées et du caramel, pour un profil frais et gourmand. L’attaque en bouche est très (trop) légère, avec les épices et des saveurs de thé qui agrémentent le palais. La finale, moyennement longue, prolonge le côté floral et épicé vu précédemment. Un profil de rhum intéressant, facile à boire mais qui offre plus qu’il ne le prétend."

"Bought three different Rivière du Mat, produced in Reunion, during my drive down to Spain. This is the third and last I open, a traditionnel Rhum Vieux. Haven’t found out the aging, but I estimate it to around 4 years. Overall a quite good rum that’s definitely better than the Ambre and the Royal Reserve because of its deeper character and longer finish."

Overall an OK rum that’s definitely better than the Ambre because of its deeper character (easier to recognize the aroma and tastes) and longer finish."

"Kurztrip Reunion September 2024. Zum Abschluss die 3-er Reihe Rhum Arrange von Riviere du Mat. Den Anfang macht die karamelisierte Ananas. Und genau so kommt es auch in Nase und am Gaumen rüber. Etwas süss, aber noch im Rahmen. Ist ganz okay."

"Kurztrip Reunion September 2024. Ein Arrange muss noch heute, diesmal eine von Isautier. In der Nase natürlich überwiegend Banane und Vanille, aber mehr tropische Früchte wie Vanille. Am Gaumen kommt dann noch etwas Karamell hinzu. Ganz annehmbar."

"Écoeurant, tant au nez qu'en bouche. C'est tellement sucré ! Trois glaçons sont nécessaires pour diluer le tout. Franchement, c'est une tannée de devoir boire cette boisson. Pourquoi ces rhums arrangés sont ils aussi sucrés ???"
