"Despite the price tag I gad to try this release and it didn't disappoint me. The price tag may be high, but is is also an old rum. Nice and fruity on the nose with some leather notes. Once rested even more notes appear. The palate is warm, dry and well balanced. Despite the age the wood isn't dominant but mixes very well with the fruits and floral notes. The finish warm and medium to long and dry with dried fruit and wood."

"Ja, das ist ein typischer El Dorado. Die wirken immer irgendwie konzentrierter als andere Rums. Aber muss das mit so einem Finish wirklich sein? Für mich jedenfalls nicht. Hätte den Versailles lieber ohne genossen. Trotzdem ganz guter Rum. Nichts für jeden Abend, ist ein etwas anstrengender Bursche, der Aufmerksamkeit braucht. Update 2022-11-28: Heute gar nicht anstrengend, sondern von Anfang an einfach süffig - was wohl am Finish liegt. Sollte ich tatsächlich noch ein Port-Finish-Aficionado werden? Bekommt jedenfalls glatt 2 Punkte mehr als bei der ersten Verkostung. Trotzdem zu hoher Flaschenpreis."

"#4920 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, light mint, fruits, pineapple, spice, cinnamon, light medicinal, light floral. Palate Round, light, light wood, faint roasted, fruits, light floral, clove, faint salt, medium dry, oily, faint smoke. Finish Long, warm, light wood, light roasted, faint smoke, fruits, light citrus, faint mint, light pineapple, faint tea. Pretty OK release and the price can be argued a bit 😊"

"This rum is overflowing with dark notes from raisins and dates to mocha and burnt caramel. The nose jives with the palette and the medium-long finish keeps it going. A great way of experiencing such a rum at a reasonable price for a half bottle."
