How does this rum taste?
- Smooth texture
- Port finish
- Appealing aroma
The Bellamy's Reserve Tawny Rum Meets Port from Panama, selected by Perola, offers a complex profile. This limited release features an intriguing blend of barrel aging and port cask finishing, distilled from molasses with a column still. Users noted aromas of barrel, vanilla, sour cherry, and port, with a palate dominated by red wine, spicy notes, and a peppery finish. While the rum's sweetness and smooth texture appeal, some find it overly sweet without much depth in flavor. With 1386 bottles, this rum represents a unique addition to any collection and offers a distinctive tasting experience for those intrigued by port influences. "Much rounder and more harmonious than the Ruby Port edition, although a little too sweet for me, but that's the nature of 10y old tawny port. A nice alternative for sweet rum drinkers and a real novelty in the rum world."

"Dégustation Bellamy. Un rhum foncé avec un nez marqué par du bois de santal, du porto rouge et un coté bien fruité. La bouche est douce avec des fruits (pommes au four), un côté poivré mais aussi amer. La finale est courte sur le bois et le porto. Un rhum qui donne une forte impression de sucrosité, le Porto est très présent mais bien intégré. Intéressant et bien fait mais il manque de tout, profondeur et largeur des arômes, longueur et caractère."

"A new way of aromatizing here, and selected port wine is married with aged rum, in this case an 8-year-old Panama rum. The taste has a pleasant oily texture and umami notes of wood and earthy colors and orange peel. Long lasting and rich aftertaste. A successful combination of port and rum and definitely worth a try."
