How does this rum taste?
RumX members agree this blend is all about apple—"le calvados domine largement le tout" (Jacques etdom) and shows a fresh, minty edge from the T.D.L. There’s plenty of caramel and baked apple on the nose, rounded by herbaceous and spice notes. "Chapeau, ein mutiger Blend...ein sehr rundes, süsses Crossover" (Jakob), though several feel the Belize is "un peu en retrait". The oily texture and woodiness underpin the fruit and fresh mint, with a finish that’s described as both "normale" and surprisingly long.

Calvados dominates. The tdl brings a darker edge and depth. The calvados is very ripe. The rum is only there to magnify it. Bravo for the idea and the result, I love it.
Now that's original. In my opinion, the blend is very successful, as the different origins blend into a coherent whole. And that alone is worth the price! The profile itself is very fruity (dominated by apple, but also other fruits) and fresh (notably herbs). A fine risk-taking for a fine success. I recommend it!
For me, this should not be in rums when it contains 60% calvados. However, the TDL is immediately apparent in the aroma, even if it is only a third. I had calvados a long time ago, but I recognize it. Together with the minty TDL, it is a hilarious blend. The Belize is only in number.
At the beginning, roasted minty apple and dried fruits come to the fore. On the palate there is a lot of freshness, wood and caramel. The finish is longer than expected and the apple note is great. Slightly alcoholic, but ok. Although I think it contains 60% Calvados, it really tastes of rum and is delicious.
