"Just retasted this one and this time it scored higher, maybe because I had a perfect day for this kind of rum. The nose is intense and fruity with wood, spices, and varnish trailed by chocolate, tobacco and light marzipan. The palate is sweet and sharp at the same time with fruits, spices, tobacco, oak and light licorice and grass. The finish is medium to long and warm with oak, coconut and tea. A few drops of water will release a lot of extra flavours on the palate and finish."

"Was für eine wahnsinns Qualität. Eine vollmundige, intensive Nase. Würzig, holzig und doch fruchtig. Getoastetes, liebliches Sandelholz mit etwas Tabak und Leder. Dann zugleich getrocknete Aprikose und Dörrplaume sowie Kirsche. Kräftiger Melassesirup, malzig und Vanillepulver. Gaumen: nicht minder intensiv und vollmundig. Feine Eiche und kieniges Sandelholz. Deutlich Mandel leicht zu Marzipan hin. Dunkel röstig und dadurch leicht bitter-salzig. Schön würzig mit Muskat und Nelke. Hinten getrocknete, saure Johannisbeere und leicht Schokoladegüssen. Oberste Liga zusammen mit den anderen Velier"
