"For a molasses rum, it starts pleasantly grassy like an agricole, although it gets “darker” after some breathing time and begins to hint at burnt sugar. Some nice peppery spice notes with hints of nutmeg and a pineapple character. Medium length greener finish."

"A decent sipper. At first will seen a touch harsh, but as it sits, it mellows out quite a bit. An interesting mix of light flavors and sharp sensation from the alcohol. The grassy notes are very light and only show up sometimes, but are very pleasant. I get a lot of homemade marshmallow, which is fantastic. All in all, a delicious product."

"this rum is farmy, fruity, creamy, and subtle with its funk. i knew to expect some industrial notes, but i did not expect it to blend so well with the other flavors. no note seems to overpower another, though a pop of pepper demanded attention on my first sip before my palate adjusted. this rum is flavorful while remaining easy to drink. the various flavors are most certainly there, but they are delicate. that being said, as someone who usually prefers a bit more punch from the taste, i do crave a little more. overall, the holmes cay fiji blend was quite enjoyable, and for me, a great introduction into fijian rum."
