“Un rhum très décevant par rapport à sa version non vieillie. Un beau nez élégant, de banane trop mûre avec des esters et un côté végétal/herbes sèches et du bois de cèdre. La bouche est acqueuse et on sent trop la dilution. Les arômes peinent à s’exprimer. La finale est courte sur les fruits tropicaux et du bois de cèdre à la fin. A ce stade l’élevage sous bois n’est pas probant, il doit être, je pense, beaucoup plus long.”

“Hampden 8 Marks Collection aged 1 year in Ex-Boubon Casks, hier der OWH, sprich der Rum der Serie mit dem niedrigstem Estergehalt. Trotzdem kann man Ester gut in der Nase erkennen, außerdem noch Klebstoff. Am Gaumen kommt dann aber trotzdem noch ein leichter Bourban Geschmack hinzu. Einer der schlechteren Hampdens, aber trotzdem noch hervorragend.”

“OWH ungelagert gg. OWH 1.Jahr gelagert: Der ungelagerte ist zu Anfang schwer zu trinken. Sehr sprittig und sonst nichts. Mit etwas Standzeit kommen dann zumindest ein paar fruchtige Noten durch. Das eine Jahr im Fass bewirkt keine Wunder, aber die sprittige Noten sind deutlich weniger (vor allem im Abgang noch). Leichte Süße und deutlich mehr Fruchtnoten kommen durch. Hat auf jeden Fall von der Lagerung profitiert.”
