“From my point of view, Plantation has (once again) lacked the courage to land a sure hit. The initial situation was fantastic a 17 years tropically matured MMW of beautiful balance. I also understand the idea with the finish. It makes the rum more elegant, enhances the continental fruit basket of the nose, the spicy whiskey notes give a nice baked apple with garam masala. But then the dilution spoils almost everything. Even the nose is rather light. The play of fruit and spice works in the mouth as well, but there's a lack of depth here to bring out the flavors. Too bad.”

“18.07.2020 A nice tasting at my friends place including a nice dinner. Notes Medium dark to dark in colour. Nose Intense, balanced, wood, light floral, fruity, orange, light smoke, spice. Palate Wood, tannins, anise, orange, medium dry, light herbs, light medicinal, light citrus, faint mint. Finish Medium long, round, wood, light leather, light floral, light mint, faint chocolate.”
