“Excellent rum! All elements are in perfect balance, none overpowering the other. On the nose the caramel throws off thinking you will find a sweet flavor, instead the rum comes out slightly bitter and dry. Later in the mouth, toasty, woody, spicy and grape notes are noticeable. The caramel gone, perhaps cocoa or chocolate. The finish is medium long with the persistence of the grape and after that more tobacco, but still all very soft.A rum that given the distillery and aging I would have expected something more!”

“A very nice Uitvlugt, my best of the 89 representatives so far. It's great fun and I can spend a lot of time with it. (However, I lack the SS89 as a comparison, which is considered THE 89-Uitvlugt)”

“Some notes of tobacco, herbal, earthy, sugar, dried fruits, leather with some overwhelming lovely smell of wood (oak) in the nose.On the palate it’s very balanced and bitte with some classic guyana notes (black tea, wood, tobacco, leather…)The finish is medium long with notes of caramel, tobacco, roasted, leather and oak for sure.Very good balanced guyana rum! Very pleasant to drink and alcohol is integrated very well.”
