Diplomático / Botucal Reserva Exclusiva
Top review from Oliver:
"With this rum, many have discovered their love for rum. By the sweetness and complaisance the ideal entry. Meanwhile, however, it is clearly too sweet and one-dimensional for me. Nevertheless, a recommendation for all who want to collect their first steps in the pure enjoyment of spirits."
Doorly‘s 14 Years
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"The nose on this rum is really nice and it may remind you of some of the Last Ward rums, not as complex but very well balanced. The palate has been perfectly rounded with the perfect proof. So no alcohol dominance but a perfect balance. The orange really shines through and the price to quality is very good. "
Dictador 12 Years
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Had a very nice Dictador tasting this Sunday and this is the first one of the six. Despite this one being a young rum from the destillery it still manages to be very complex with a very nice nose and palate. The vanilla is perfectly matched with the rest and the finish is long and has a bit of smoke to it. All in all a very good price tag for this bottle. This bottle won gold at the International Rum Expert Panel 2010."
Dictador 20 Years
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Had a very nice Dictador tasting this Sunday and this is the second one of the six. This is the second time I have this rum in a tasting and this time it got a few more points. This rum is made from sugarcane and honey molasses, which is pretty rare. In this rum you can really smell and taste the honey. This is a must try if you like Zacapa rum because they're pretty similar. Price to quality is very good. This rum won gold at the 2010 International Rum Expert Panel. "
Flor de Caña 12 Años
Top review from Leo Tomczak:
"Tangy hazelnut liqueur with a slightly burning finish. Certainly sweetened, colored and flavored to spice up the neutral alcohol. Let's see how it performs in cola. It performs as expected in cola, although there's not much you can do wrong. Therefore a slight upgrade to 30. Nice and unobtrusive with ginger beer."
Gunpowder Proof (Black Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s possible to find the Gunpowder Proof in three different blends. The oldest one consists of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados. After that it came with a blend of Guyana and Trinidad rum. The latest one just consists of different rum from Guyana. The one I review here is the latest one. I think it’s quite complex with a good balance between sweetness and dryness."
1888 Doblemente Añejado
Top review from Tim :
"The good thing about this rum is that it has not been excessively sugared, like many other rums from this category. However, it is not particularly praiseworthy at first sight because of the alcoholic note, but if you give it a little time, you get a wonderfully woody sherry nose. In addition, caramel and some fruit. In the mouth then even the dark flavors dominate, which makes this rum something special."
El Pasador XO
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall an OK Latino rum with a little too weak taste. It’s fruity, spicy and sweet without being extremely sweet. Recognizable aromas and flavors is raisins, coconut, vanilla, pepper, chocolate and caramel."
VSOP Spéciale Réserve
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"A remarkable VSOP that’s very balanced and elegant. The only one of those I’ve tasted that can compete is the 8yo from Dillon. Significant scents and flavors are prunes, grass, sugarcane, vanilla, licorice and tobacco."
Exceptional Cask Selection XV Redoutable
Top review from Oliver:
"Wonderful rum from the Foursquare distillery! Spicy, full-bodied and delicious. In the nose surprise floral notes, which I did not know from Foursquare so. From the profile it goes towards really good Tropical Guyana Column! Very good!"
Cinabrio Ron 12 Años
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"very nice play of orange peel, tangerine & toffee, clearly better than the old 12 cihuatan. apparently not only the design but also the recipe has been improved again here.👌🏽 overall, however, it is a bit woody and one-dimensional but nicely orangey. I find the indigo better in terms of plv."

Top review from cigares :
"Tasted with the Depaz XO prestige, it is better in the mouth and the finish is more interesting despite a lower price. The nose is less interesting than the XO. In mouth a peaty side absent in the nose, dried fruits and tropical fruits. The finish is floral with violet."
Ryoma Rhum Japonais
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"I think this rum is one of the most misunderstood ones in the market. I've been travelling in Japan and tried a lot of their spirits and it with that in mind I scored this rum. The nose starts off with whisky and sake, yes, sake. Then the vegetal and grassy notes appear with some oak and caramel. The palate is light yet complex with sake and Agricole notes. Later you have sake and the vegetal notes mixed with smoke and oak. The finish is medium long with sake and vegetal notes to it. The price is high for such a young rum, but nothing from Japan is cheap. "
Gran Reserva Solera 23 Años
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"They have added this big brother to the 15 year old and it's much better. They're still not there yet though they hav managed to make this one heavier in the taste. I think the idea with this version was to try and challenge Zacapa and El Dorado, but they still have some way to go. For the price though, this is a good rum. "

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Had a retest led by the co-founder Mr. Ian Burrell during the Pre-party to Sweden Rumfest at Cane Rum Society in Stockholm which confirmed my earlier review. The added picture is from the first test. ——————————————-Bought 2*3 cl of this rum, a blend from Mauritius (Gray’s) and Barbados (Foursquare). It’s good, but I expected more cause it’s Richard Seale and Ian Burrell that’s behind it. Overall I think it’s a quite great rum, but a little too weak. It’s unsweetened, but there are some sweetness so I think it maybe could be something for people who likes sweet rum that want to develop their rum drinking into less sweetened rum."
XO Grande Réserve
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"A balanced and very well-balanced rhum with finesse and a very nice interplay of fruitiness and wood spice. The price is also fine for me. I am very positively surprised that the fruity notes make it to the palate so beautifully."
15 Years Black River Casks
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This new release is more on the roasted side than the other ones. Lightly fruity with vanilla and wonderful caramel. On the palate there is wonderful roasted wood and I find it nice and round with and oily feel on the tongue. Price to quality is very good in my mind."
Clairin Communal Blend des Quatres Communes
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice white rum! Great to drink mixed and neat. Price under 30 euros make it a great choice! Less aggresive than the other clairins it is probably the most lovable along with Sajous."
White Overproof
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"One of the epic rum mixers, that was used by Victor Bergeron when he created Mai Tai back in 1944. The nose is mostly fruity and spicy. At the palate the fruitiness dominates with flavors of citrus, banana and pineapple. The finish has a certain sweetness and a long spiciness."
Les Éphémères - N°6
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Hmm, heretical question: could it possibly be that this rhum is generally overrated in the euphoric exuberance in the face of a four-piece set perfectly prepared for collectors? 🤔 Too much advance praise? I certainly had to drink it in first. 😳 After the typical notes of whitewashed wall dominate the nose, the rhum on the palate lacks almost everything that fascinated me about the first release in the series. Only towards the end, on the finish, is there a certain spicy power that compensates somewhat for the seemingly arbitrary impression on the palate. Nevertheless, no comparison with the divine No. 1, rather with the already weakening No. 7 (even if a direct crosstasting is still pending). I wouldn't have thought so. Bad form on the day? Update 2023-04-14: No, it's not due to poor form on the day. 🤷♂️ Tasted today directly against the already legendary Les Epheméres No. 1. The No. 6 can make up a little ground (80 instead of 78 points), but can't hold a candle to the No. 1, remains somehow one-dimensional. Update 2024-02-11: Tasted again in parallel with the Saint James/Excellence Rhum (RX18129) from the same distillation year. Result as expected: Les Ephemeres No. 6 is in no way a match for the Excellence Rhum. Strangely enough, it has an unpleasant smell of inferior glue on the nose today, at least initially, and an inappropriate sharpness on the palate; the agricole seems unround overall - all in direct comparison to RX18129, mind you. Tasted individually, it would certainly score better. It remains at 80 points."

"La Route des Rhums Adventskalender 2023 Nr. 11. Hier ein Bielle Agricole mit 58% ABV. Auch ein sehr Zitrusfruchtlastiger Agricole, wie immer eigentlich. Kommt in der Nase frisch daher, nur ich finde man merkt den Alkohol zu sehr, aber alles in allem sehr gut."
Clairin Sonson
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Clairin nice and dirty like the Vaval and Le Rocher. These white rums I love them and I can taste real rum in them without too many refinements just like in the pirate days. Sure they are not refined nor easy, but they are authentic!"

"26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirits. Retasting this and I still thing this is a very good rum at the price tag. ------------------- This one was a huge surprise so I'll have to get a few for my tastings. Price to quality is very good and a must try for most. Try to add a piece of lime zest and the rum just comes to life. We tried a new unfinished version that was over 70% and it was even better. That one I'd be interested in as well 😂"
New Grove Emotion
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"It is rare, far too rare, to discover a diamond among pebbles. And if it happens by chance, it's all the more incredible. But it actually happened with this rum! I'm still blown away. The rum already promises a lot on the nose and reminds me of an old Demerara. So tempting that I can't wait to taste it. Very fruity on the palate, overripe blackcurrants? The alcohol is more perfectly integrated than I have ever experienced with any other rum. The maximum has really been extracted from the 47% vol. The only small drawback: a slight lack of depth and intensity due to the low ABV. But such a small "impurity" is easy to get over with such a fine diamond, isn't it? Top rum under the radar. Update 2023-10-06: The rum remains a top product for me, but has found its champion in the Savoir Faire 2009 with 60% (RX2744). Update 2023-10-18: Tasting again against the RX2744, this time direct. And I have to say that a direct comparison is really enlightening - and doesn't end well for the Emotion 1969 ... It seems like the league leader of the 2nd division playing at the top level in its class against a Champions League team ... 🙄 Try it out and you'll find it confirmed. RumX Advent calendar 09.12.2023 (blind tasting) I wrote in the appropriate place before solving the puzzle: Yes, on the nose I'm also more with FS, although what's amazing here is that you really perceive zero alcohol! A completely different rum on the palate: Not warm-caramel like on the nose, but clearly red-fruity and a little spicy. And what do I always associate with red fruit? That's right, Mauritius! Since this rum is not an alcohol monster, but rather under 50% vol. I'm guessing RX2495. Of course, it could also be another New Grove from Grays with around 45% vol. as there are still a few around ... Or maybe even a TDL. In any case, I like the rum very much. :yum::yum::yum:"

"Verkostet auf der Kirsch Cruise 2024. Für mich ein eher schwächerer aus der Bally Linie. Schön ihn doch mal probieren zu können, aber überzeugt hat er mich leider nicht. Da gibt es weit aus bessere die ich bis dato im Glas hatte. Für mich eher ein "Einsteiger Rum""

Top review from Galli33:
"Amazing Rum!! I really enjoyed the glue/cognac note which comes from the french oak barrel, I guess. Also the fruity tastes of apple, pear and strawberries🤤 The barrel and ABV is integrated very well. Conclusion of my tasting: 2006<<<2005<2001 (Roberto style 😜)"
Don Papa Sherry Cask
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a rum which was finished in 5 different casks. First finish is done in American oak bourbon casks and then 18 months in 4 different sherry casks; Fino, Pedro Ximinez, Cream and Palo Cortado. A very nice long velvety finish. "
Fruits des Pluies
Top review from Vincent D:
"Tasted initially at Rhum Fest 2023. Fresher and more lemony than the bottle from the other parcel. Very pleasant. Tasted again in the quiet and found it to be a very successful rum. A surprising sweetness accompanies a well-marked cane with a strong lemon note. Very fresh. A great success."
Papalin Réunion
Top review from Rodolphe:
"I wasn't a fan of the Papalin range until now. But La Velier has come up with a very good Reunionese at a nice price. It's a perfect representation of the rhums trad found there, with the fruity side of the grand aroma, present but not overpowering. It drinks well, is pleasant, vegetal, floral, woody and fruity. A great success. In the end, it's what I expected from savanna's Le Must, which doesn't emphasize the fruitiness of the grand arôme enough. This is the case here."
Cihuatán XAMAN XO
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a smooth and pleasant Latino rum. It’s a 16yo rum containing rums aged for 15 years in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, and finished for one year in Mayan Ceiba casks. It’s fruity and smoky with aroma and flavor of vanilla and pistachio."
El Pasador Gran Reserva
Top review from BTHHo 🥃:
"Strangely enough, it does not carry much through in the taste, which is really nice and buttery smooth. Fantastic balance between sweet and dry - Hint of vanilla and spice, where the spice carries through, but the vanilla leaves quickly, but here we have a nice long and pleasant aftertaste 🥃👍"
El Dorado Rare Collection EHP
Top review from Oliver:
"Very inviting nose with dried apricots, raisins and delicate chocolate notes. The palate can then unfortunately not quite keep up with the fantastic nose. Slight alcoholic spiciness perceptible - was briefly even with unsweetened, Spanish style at barrel strength. But that is criticism at a high level. Relatively dry, spicy and pleasant wood notes.Very nice Enmore!"

Top review from Oliver:
"Tasted for the first time at ProWein in Düsseldorf. Lots of green apple and herbs (dill?) on the nose. On the palate creamy sweet (in a positive sense) and spicy floral. Some nutmeg and green fruits again. After half an hour the rum opens up and you are rewarded with a great balanced profile. Spicy, some floral and a pleasant sweetness. Alcohol very well integrated."

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting and leaving the original note 😊 This is a rum that will surprise most people bacause it's in the cheaper end but delivers none the less. A wonderful fruity nose with molasses, honey and caramel topped off with oak. The palate is nkvmcely balance d though not complex it still manages to be well rounded with fruit, caramel followed by coffee, chocolate and a squeeze of marzipan. The finish is medium long and mild with oak and fruits."

Top review from Jakob:
"Epic Velier Caroni Tasting 2023: Very aromatic and intense, the high alcohol adds punch but also expressiveness. Lots of vanilla melt on the palate and finish. Excellent 1996 Caroni, although not quite at the top of the vintage."
El Dorado Rare Collection VSG
Top review from cigares :
"A rum decried by the RumX community and praised by Serge Valentin. So I had to buy it and taste it. I was rather disappointed when I opened the bottle, but I'm familiar with the phenomenon... A nose of old leather, flambéed banana, brown sugar and tea, with good concentration. A slightly peaty palate with fat and brown sugar. The finish is abrupt, but honey and cask reappear after a while. The empty glass is splendid with previously hidden aromas. Apart from the fact that this rum is too lively when opened, I find nothing but good in it. It's perfectly balanced and deep. It could have a slightly broader aromatic palette, but then it would be one of the great Demerara rums. Buy it before it disappears from the shelves."

Top review from cigares :
"Un rhum goûté au Rum and Gin Festival à Lucerne en 2023 et 2024. Un nez très végétal, floral avec de l’olive verte, des fruits jaunes et du lierre. La bouche est pleine d’arômes avec beaucoup d’olive verte et toutes sortes d’herbes et des fruits. La finale est assez longue avec des arômes végétaux, du tabac frais, du bois de cèdre et surtout de la gousse de vanille."

Top review from Tim :
"The smell is still the best thing about this rum, then in the mouth is the total crash. With almost 100g / L actually already a liqueur, yet the sugar does not manage to round off the sharpness in the mouth and aftertaste. The extreme sweetness and spiciness is irritating and one wonders why so much sugar was added at all if a certain spiciness was intended. This rum is a strange accident."
Brut de Fût
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the WLP and in Cologne. A warm nose with walnuts, Cementit, old hemp rope and, above all, rapeseed flowers. A fairly lively attack on the palate, with leather, glue and wood, followed by fruit, yellow fruit and apple. A long, elegant finish. A fine rum, all elegance except on the attack."
Black Edition Alligator
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bought this Rhum from Catawiki to a very good price together with some other bottles. Karukera is produced by the Esperance distillery in Guadeloupe that also produces Longuetau. Karukera is the name the indigenous people called their island which means 'The island of beautiful waters'. It’s distilled in the distillery’s column still, but the details how it has been aged differs, some says for seven years in French bourbon and cognac barrels others says five years in new charred barrels. Maybe there are two different ones. Overall a super smooth and round Rhum that probably is a very good introduction to Rhum from Guadeloupe."

"I just got two bottles of this limited release and I'd say it's pretty good. I scored this one a bit lower but price to quality is very good. Lightly fruity with spices and roasted wood in near perfect harmony. A well balanced rum and I recommend leaving the empty glass for a while and then whiff it again because that is a nice experience."

Angostura 1787
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting and it did lose some points 😊 ------- This one concludes this week's tastings. Angostura has done it again. Another great rum and this one is a tad better than their 12 year old. This one was blended by John George's and he did a really good job. After blending it matured for 15 years in oak and you can taste that oak. A fruity well balanced rum with a long and full bodied finish."
Exceptional Cask Selection XXIII Covenant
Top review from Dr.Django:
"Today there are two Foursquare: 1. covenant: This one tastes like it looks. Lots of dark fruit, somewhat leathery and dry on the palate. The cask influence is very strong, almost too strong. You have to know what you're getting into, but if you like it, you won't be disappointed. The alcohol is well integrated. Delicious Foursquare that I could imagine really enjoying from time to time! 2nd Absolutio: Awesome piece! There are no surprises on the nose or palate in terms of aromas. Mouth-filling, starts silky and pleasantly oily towards the finish. Pleasantly (dry) woody and chocolaty-fruity, great balance. The finish is very long and offers an interplay between dried fruit wrapped in chocolate and wood. I particularly like rums with these long, great finishes and that's what makes this rum for me! Wonderful, now it's "Hunters must hunt" Many thanks to Schnubbii!"
El Dorado 21 (2020 Release)

Brut de colonne - Bio
Top review from Fasen :
"This rum is a real juice straight out of the cane which the sugar of it would have candied. Very vegetable notes (Green / Hay / Earthy / Sap / Olive / Grass), of citrus fruits (Lemon / Lime) which brings a beautiful freshness (Smooth), it is mineral, slightly spicy (Pepper / Cinnamon / Vanilla (at the end of mouth)), we also find a beautiful sweetness (Honey / Cooked sugar) In short we just have the impression to crunch in a cane gorged of sugar and sun it is very good and pleasant to drink!"
Art of Rum by Yann le Gall
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted at the Rhum Fest in 2024 and at the Masterclass for RumX 2024. A nose that vacillates between dark, woody, spicy, very lightly tarred and fruity (pear) and vegetal. The freshness is perhaps a little lacking. The palate is fruity with spices, wood and less vegetal than on the nose. The finish is rather short on yellow fruit and citrus. Spices and a hint of tar at the very end. The empty glass is beautiful."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 32 C<>H
Top review from cigares :
"RumX Awards 2023 and re-tasted 6 months later. Despite its age, the esters are very present without dominating. Buttery, nicely acidic, lemony, overripe banana, grilled bacon and yellow fruit make up a nose that remains balanced despite its complexity. The attack is lively and explosive, with fat (butter) tempering the fire and fruit filling the mouth. Yellow fruit (pear and apple) and young wood. The finish is long, elegant and fresh. No flaws here, everything is clean and precise. The wood is perfectly integrated. The fruit remains right to the end. In the empty glass, you discover an unprecedented sweetness, with the wood clearly perceptible. The favorite rum of this top RumX selection."

"This is a very atypical but delicious Rum from Mount Gay🤤Blind you’ll never say this is a MG 😅 The alcohol is integrated well. Some atypical tastes in mouth and finish with some notes of licorice, tobacco and a nice taste of the oak barrel. It‘s an awesome everyday rum with a good price per value ratio. I see this one slightly behind the 2000 MG from S.B.S Update: Found some nice licorice and rubber notes 😜 The second sip was a lot better, more impressive. By far the best from mount gay🤤🤤 enjoyed it a lot"

"The molasses is bought from Dom.Rep. and Guyana. After distillation it’s aged in former bourbon barrels of American oak, which are charred, for between 10 and 25 years. To enhance the oak taste is a handful of oak chips added to each barrel. In my opinion is it a great rum that overall is very dry and oaky."

Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"This is what a red wine finish should taste like! It is present without taking over the rum. Red fruits, berries and cherry remain from the nose to the finish. There are also spices (cumin, cloves) - and a hint of sulphur, which leaves a little salt in the mouth and finish. Despite the low alcohol content, a lot of flavor comes together in the mouth. Reminiscent of a very elegant 2008 Ten Cane. A little too little action, but I could drink this almost every day."

"This is my first ever rum from grenada! And this one is really special… I found some strange notes like medicinal, plastic, rubber, phenol, petrol reminds me on a Savanna HERR/Lontan, but it‘s also a bit on the dirty side (i wouldn‘t say caroni like). Those notes are overwhelmig all the other notes like wood, oak, herbal, floral, sugarcane, a bit fruity (citrus?!). All in all it‘s a special one, for sure, but a good one. The alcohol is integrated well and fits in perfect. I‘m still undecided, if I should order a bottle or not… 🤔😬"

Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: I reduce my rating by 4 points because the rum seems quite alcoholic despite the low alcohol content and because the gap in terms of aroma and intensity to the Velier bottlings is clear. The grilled overripe bananas jump out of the glass at me! There are also other tropical fruits and vanilla. Ripe banana and vanilla again in the mouth, very mild and oily. A peppery and salty note and barrel are added on the finish. Overall very harmonious and intense, top!"

"brutal guter, sehr fruchtiger Agricole und top PLV! Top ti punch und ungewöhnlich "birnig". Dazu etwas lakritz, Dattel und Kokos. Macht sich übrigens extrem gut im french Ensemble aber auch im ti Punch natürlich 🤤🍐⚜️🇲🇶🇨🇵"
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 30 (Hawaiian Rum)
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"At the palate and during the finish it’s perfectly alright, but the nose is very unpleasant. The price is very way too high, but I found my bottles at an Spanish webshop to the third of the normal price which make it price worthy for me."
Trinidad (Premium Spirits)
Top review from cigares :
"An initial agricultural nose with dried herbs, lime, fruit, menthol and eucalyptus. Flowers too. The menthol, fruit and flowers are reminiscent of TDL, however, and contradict my first impression. On the palate, TDL aromas dominate: fruit, menthol and flowers. A nice acidity invigorates this rum, while a dirty, gasoline, tar and medicinal side gives it depth. On the finish, the wood stands out, an elegant cedar wood with a light bitterness. The aromas fade gently, with fruit and flowers lingering for a very long time. A very fine rum, thanks Mirko for the sample."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 26 Agricole Rum F.W.I (Ex-Gardel Finish)
Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: after about an hour in the glass develop aromas of buckwheat honey, I like better than the first time ( 2). Nose: first I perceive typical Agricole aromas and walnut. Then spices wood and then dried fruit.Seeeevery mild, alcoholic sharpness is practically absent.Palate: the rum seems watery in the mouth at the beginning. But that changes surprisingly: the flavors take over and then the alcohol is also feltAftertaste: it remains mainly Agricole notes hang. From Gardelfass I notice nothing, but also do not know what I have to look for. Possibly the barrel is responsible for the toasty notes."
Cuvée des Alizés
Top review from TheRhumhoe:
"A very smooth white agricultural rum. A lovely agricultural freshness perfumes the nostrils, with earthy, herbaceous and vegetal notes, accompanied by citrus fruits (lemon) that round out the angles. A hint of salt underscores the subtlety of the nose. The attack on the palate is ample, supple and pleasant. Citrus and dried fruit dominate the palate, leaving sugarcane and its vegetal notes more in the background. Round, fresh and very well structured. The finish, of decent length, is surprisingly warm, dry and slightly spicy. Vegetal and earthy flavors come back to the fore, in the face of citrus. A very fine cuvée that will delight all Ti Punch lovers."

Top review from Jakob:
Guyana Single Cask MEC
Top review from Jakob:
"Nice, heavy demerara. Alcohol is cleanly integrated and the notes of wood, leather and spices are nicely balanced by light fruit notes. In direct comparison with other releases a bit too shy in expression, a little more spiciness would have suited the rum well - so the heavy sweet notes remain without significant counterpart. Given the quality of this heavy sweetness, this is undoubtedly grumbling at a high level; for an even better rating, however, lacks precisely at this point still some aromatic variety."
El Dorado The Last Casks
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Lovechild from 2010 Moneymusk MBS & 2006 Foursquare! Super mild & relaxed. Lots of honey, light fresh herbs like lemon verbena and some milk chocolate, as well as kumquat jam and toasted coconut chips. Could be a little more powerful but on the whole it is very tasty and elegant!"

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Finally got to sample the other half of this package. Lovely rum which needs to rest 20-30 minutes to get the full package off flavours Lightly dry and a slight bitterness with some fruits and chocolate. The glass the day after is really nice on the nose. "

Cœur de chauffe
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This Saint James at ABV 60% made from cane juice is not distilled in an column still as most of their produced rum, instead it’s double distilled in copper pot stills. So because of that it’s an Agricole without being an AOC rum. It makes a good Ti Punch."
Old Black Cane (100% Canne Noire)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bologne Old Black Cane is like the name says made from black cane. It’s a blend aged between 3 and 6 years in French oak barrels that have previously contained cognac before bottled. Overall a good Agricole as all rum from the Bologne distillery is."

Top review from jonathan.p🇫🇷:
"Pas commun ! Un nez mentholé sur fond de chêne et fruits, en bouche, je retrouve un côté fumé dès le début puis des fruits….. c est vraiment bon et pas comparable à quelque chose que j ai testé auparavant. Je met 80 au global, mais il est possible que j y revienne en améliorant la note"
Velier 70th Anniversary
Top review from Joachim Guger:
"A sample that I have been looking for for a long time. Grazie Mille!!! 😀 I let it breathe for 2 hours, smelling it every time is an experience. Beautiful lacquer and solvent, caramel and macaroons, but restrained by Neisson standards. Plenty of spices. Very powerful, yet round and the 58% is perfectly integrated. It is very complex. Sniff deep in, peripheral, let it rest, swirl, something new every time.😀 Woody in the mouth (but not too much), spicy, caramel and macaroons. Long finish. The Neisson DNA is recognizable, but this one is not fine and elegant, but heavy and spicy. Absolutely 🔝, I like it better than its brother from 2005."
XO Quintessence
Top review from TheRhumhoe:
Rhum Blanc Pre-Cask New Bacolet
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is from the latest release and I was very surprised about the fresh fruity nose and palate. Very balanced and only lightly dry. Just leaving it to rest will release very nice flavours from the glass. Price to quality is very good."
Grande Réserve
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bought three different Rivière du Mat, produced in Reunion, during my drive down to Spain. This is the third and last I open, a traditionnel Rhum Vieux. Haven’t found out the aging, but I estimate it to around 4 years. Overall a quite good rum that’s definitely better than the Ambre and the Royal Reserve because of its deeper character and longer finish."
Presidente Marti 19 Años
Top review from epicsune 🇸🇪:
"Very pleasant on the nose with sweet dried fruits, vanilla and nice round molasses. The round sweet palate is filled with raisins, dried fruits, sweet caramel, some milk chocolate and vanilla. This is a really nice sipper if you enjoy the spanish solera types of rum."
Père Labat Brut de colonne
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Having another go at this one and I still stand by my score. A great warming Agricole that really kicks in the right doors. This rum has to rest for a while in order to settle or it will attack your nose and palate without mercy. A great Agricole with light fruits and spice to it. I like the fresh floral and grassy notes that comes at you, both the nose and palate. The ABV is very well integrated and hands a warm touch to your palate."
El Dorado Blended In The Barrel PM ICBU
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"I personally like it best from the blended in the barrel range. It has just the right alcohol content and brings a nice spiciness of herbal and sweet spicy notes!🙏 Definitely the one I would recommend the most."
Small Batch Rare Rums HLCF
Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Sehr leckerer HLCF. Ester Frucht und Holzigkeit passen hier nahezu perfekt zusammen. Keinerlei fehlnoten zumindest konnte ich keine bemerken. Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden. Im Mai Tai ne richtig starke 4/5 sehr ausgewogen und Fruchtig."
Cuvée Prestige
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"As a summary this is a very smooth and truly magnificent Rhum with scents and flavors of fruits, spices, oak, sugarcane and some hints of tobacco. It’s an older version of the Cuvée Prestige now sold in the blue wooden box."
Unshared Cask for France
Top review from Mirco:
"Alkohol könnte etwas besser eingebunden sein. Hatte vor dem Kauf die Befürchtung, dass der Port zu dominant sein könnte. Dies hat sich zum Glück nicht bewarheitet und gibt dem Rum eine gute Note. Für eine höhere Bewertung fehlt mir die Frucht. Dennoch schöne Gewürz, Holz und Röstaromen. Macht Spass. Mit längerer Oxidation wird diese Abfüllung besser."
Montebello Basseterre
Top review from Jakob:
"Wonderfully fresh grassy notes meet fruit, nougat sweetness and spice. Thanks to the reduced strength almost to be called easy sipper, but this would not quite do justice to the rum, because the distillate remains aromatically alive and knows to show diverse new nuances. A very successful rum."
El Dorado Blended In The Barrel ICBU & EHP
Top review from cigares :
"Beautiful fruit nose in harmony with scents of old English club, varnished wood, old leather and cold smoke. The palate is smooth and all the aromas arrive at once. They quickly dissolve, leaving elegant wood, candy sugar and ripe banana on the finish. A fine rum with depth and elegance, but with a somewhat hollow finish."
Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 27 EMB
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This was my contribution to the tasting and once we cracked open the bottle the flavours started spreading. Fruity with roasted wood and very good ABV integration. I really like the floral note and warm/spicy touch to the palate. Price to quality is very good in my mind."
El Dorado Blended In The Barrel SV PM
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Easy sipping dorado blend. I am positively surprised. Very drinkable. Could just have a little more steam! 🤷🏼♂️ The price-performance ratio could be better, but it's definitely tasty. Slight points deducted for the bitterness in the finish."
El Dorado Blended In The Barrel PM ICBU SVW
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Exciting blend! Diamond brings the sweetness and caramel, Port mourant the herbs and spice, uitvlugt the typical bitter and woody pencil shavings. Nice entry rum into the Guyana world and very balanced! For me in terms of complexity the best of the 4 blended in the barrel editions!🙏"
Montebello ZENGA BLACK EDITION (Canne Noire)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4545 13.01.2020 Relaxing at home. A pretty good release. Fresh and fruity with an oily palate that is spicy and medium dry. The finish is medium to long and spicy with some added licorice."
XO
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"A great Rhum that’s very smooth and elegant on the palate and during the finish. The only negative is that the nose is a little weak. The nose is spicy and woody with aromas of sugarcane. At the palate and during the rather long finish it’s also spicy and woody but also floral, complex and very smooth with flavors of dried fruit."
Rhum Rhum Libération 2012
Top review from cigares :
"Un très bon rhum, très bien fait. Vivacité des arômes, cohérence en bouche. Finale courte néanmoins et je suis un peu déçu par rapport à sa réputation… et son prix actuel. Il manque des watts. J’espère pouvoir goûter un jour la version intégrale."
Brut de colonne
Top review from Thunderbird:
"This rum is a positive surprise!A very intense fruity and herbal nose with some sour dough! On the palate it spreads oily creamy and intense! Initially fruity , then changing into the herbal (with slight spiciness and anise) 71.3% ....they are barely noticeable, great! The finish is then classic Agricole (grassy / hay / steppe)If you take into account here even the price... a clear buy recommendationAnd immediately there is a Ti Punch with it 😋"
Cuvée Christophe Colomb 1493 Hors d‘Age
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The quite long finish goes the same way as at the palate. This brand was founded 2002 when Guillaume Drouin teamed up with Francois Longueteau at the Esperance/Longueteau Distillery to create an Agricole made from blue cane. Karukera is by the way the Carib’s name on Guadeloupe."
Le Distillat Brut de Colonne Rhum Blanc
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bologne Le Distillat Brut de Colonne from Guadeloupe is made from red and black cane, distilled in the distillerys copper column and thereafter rested for 18 months and as for a Brut de Colonne then bottled without any reduction at 75,5%. Overall an Agricole that has an exceptional roundness for its high ABV."
Opus 5
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Have had this bottle for quite a while and now was a perfect day to taste it on a sunny afternoon out in the Stockholm archipelago. Rivière du mât Opus 5 is a blend of five different agricultural rums aged for a minimum of 6 years with an average age of 8 years. This is the first time I taste an Agricole from Rivière du Mat. Only tasted molasses rum from them earlier. Overall it’s better than OK, but can’t match Savanna Agricole’s which is still the best Agricole’s from La Reunion in my opinion. On the nose it’s fruity, woody, spicy and floral with aromas of tropical fruits, hay and grass. On the palate it’s fruity and spicy with flavors of vanilla, cinnamon, sugar cane and pepper. The medium long finish is round with flavors of coffee, caramel and cocoa."
HSE Château Marquis de Terme Finish
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"A very nice and fruity release. Well balanced, round and mild in the finish. I really like that you can pick up the cane and caramel in the profile. The empty glass is really nice after a few hours."
El Pasador Ron - 52 - Rum
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"A rum from my early days. I had actually kept it for visitors who first had to be introduced to (somewhat stronger) rum. However, since the sweethearts dared to try it, I have now opened it for myself (on weekdays it can also be something undemanding). And what can I say: it tastes good! Am I falling off the sweet rum wagon? 😉"
Le Nouveau Monde
Top review from Leo Tomczak:
"Good 12-year-old Agricole that offers everything you could wish for despite the low %. The grassy notes are discreetly restrained here. Extremely round and balanced overall, I would strongly recommend it to beginners as an Agricole starter. Unfortunately not quite cheap."

"Whisky Live Paris 2024 (trade fair evaluation, only overall rating and personal recommendation to buy): Nicely quaffable, young agricole, but it doesn't trigger any storms of enthusiasm. I don't have to have a bottle of it."
Sample Eleven Blended Rum
Top review from Tschusikowsky:
"Tasted as a blind sample. Thanks Adrian 🙏🏼So right I could not classify him. I meant reltaiv much Enmore to have tasted out. But with the funk of tropical fruit that comes through, it didn't quite fit. On the palate, relatively weak, though complex and quite a bit to discover. Certainly a very good PLV. Quite pleasing rum."
Sample X Lluidas Vale
Top review from Rowald Sweet Empire:
"A very well aged full flavoured Worthy Park. In fact if you like WP you can't go wrong with this. It packs a little sting at 56% abv but also all the bananas, overripe plums and flowers. I believe it's around 75eu which is well well worth it. Retaste: all of the above. Very floral. Greatness!"
Rum Artesanal Jamaica Rum MRJB
Top review from Oliver:
"A 40-year-old rum is not often in the glass. The nose surprises with a great intensity - the 45.1% is not felt here at all. On the palate, however, the expectation can not be kept - the rum has simply too little power and evaporates too quickly. The bottom line is still a great experience."
Rum New Yarmouth (The Auld Alliance)
Top review from zabo:
"Another 94 New Yarmouth that I have now tasted. From memory, compared to the Insane 94 tasting, I would put this one in the good midfield. More on the creamy, chocolatey side. Nevertheless, the 94 NYs are all at a high level"
Facundo Eximo
Top review from cigares :
"A nose of vanilla and barley sugar, wood and candy. The beginning of the palate is too sweet, diluted and the middle is thin. The finish is short and soon all that's left is a taste of honey candy. A well-made rum, easy to drink, but not very interesting for all that. The empty glass reveals some well-integrated wood."
Master Blender Collection - XO The Peat Smoke Expression
Top review from Joachim Guger:
"Primär klassisches MG Profil. Vanille, getrocknete Banane, Früchte, Honig und Karamell. Ergänzt wird das durch Rauch, Würze und Torf. Gute Stärke und ausgewogen. Im Mund kommt dann das Finish ordentlich. Sehr rauchig, fleischig. Honig, getrocknete Früchte. Pfeffrige Würze. Guter Abgang. Das torfige steht Mount Gay richtig gut. Toller Rum."
Trinidad Rum for Haromex Dev.
Top review from Jakob:
Port Morant Demerara Rum
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted in a restaurant, the bottle well started. A superb nose, like a clubhouse with old varnished wood, a light smokiness coming from the fireplace, dried fruits on the counter. Big disappointment on the palate, which doesn't live up to its olfactory promises. Diluted but with a beautiful bitterness, a surprising vegetal side. The finish is short but elegant. The empty glass reveals the lost aromas with a lovely fruity woodiness."
