Pure Single Jamaican Rum Classic HLCF

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice rum, but a little under compared to batch1. The presence of a slight solvent note I liked less and it is less intense. However, we are talking about finesse and personal taste. We are dealing with a rum that I would drink all the time! I do not understand all these new versions of Hampden Velier that I find little different from each other and especially pòco justified in terms of value for money. Velier lately is focusing too much on collectors with the result of making the bottles unobtainable already upon release and overpriced."
Providence Haitian Pure Single Rum

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This was the odd one out and also a huge surprise. Considering the price tag you get a lot for your money. I found out that it needed to rest for at least 15 minutes and at 30 minutes the flavours just come at you. Intense and fruity with nice spices and cane. I really like the floral note from nose to finish and even the empty glass was wonderful after a while. Loking forward to our S.B.S and Silver Seal tasting next week."
Pure Single Jamaican Rum LROK

Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Nice rum, but too similar to hampden the younger and the 50 euro difference is a tease to the consumer. Unfortunately lately Velier is releasing overpriced bottlings where you pay for the brand and less for the quality of the product. Personally I would never buy it taking into account that the overproof can be found at 80 euros and this at 110 and the younger at 59."
Black Tot Rum Master Blender’s Reserve 2022

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"06.10.2023 retasting between 2021 - 2022 - 2023 and it lost a few points. ------ Now we have 3 great Black Tot releases. The 50th Anniversary, Master Blender 2021 and Master Blender 2022 and I like them all. They're also scored pretty closely to each other by me. The releases are really close to each other so the day decides which one wins. I like the darkness of it with smoky wood and warm palate as well as the long finish. I was very surprised at the final result when sipping this one at the German Rum Fest and I will have a few bottles when accessible."
Plummer Tropical Aging EMB

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a great rum with a fantastic nose as well as a fantastic finish that I got a sample of from my youngest son a month ago. It’s a blend of rum from the Clarendon Distillery selected by Velier and E&A Sheer from casks with rum distilled 2002, 2004 and 2006. It’s bottled 2020 which gives it’s 14 years old. It’s a pot still destilled rum, tropical aged on site in Jamaica with an ester level of 324.5 gr/hlap which gives that it’s a “Plummer" (EMB) category of the distillery. The nose is complex, smooth, round, fruity, oaky and nutty. At the palate it’s still complex and you can feel the ABV. After a while and during the long finish you recognize the esters, the fruitiness and all the other aromas as tastes."
Last Ward Barbados (Pure Single Rum)

Top review from DomM:
"Very nice on the nose. This feels very mature (in a positive way) with lots of wood, chocolate and hints of coconuts. Those notes are accompanied by lots of ripe and dried fruits and some herbs (a hint of menthol?). The fruit notes are rather intense making this the best MG nose I experienced so far. Lots of wood on the palate without being to dry or bitter. Dark choclate and some dried fruits show up to the party. Nice. This one needs quite some time to breath to fully open up but delivers a very nice MG expression."
Aged 15 Years

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Some call this new 15yo for “Nelson’s Blood”, but it’s definitely not the same. This one isn’t nearly as sweet as the “Nelson’s Blood” and there isn’t written “Nelson’s Blood” on the label either. Overall it’s a very good rum, but probably quite long from what a Navy rum tasted way back in time. I would say if you like the other rum in Pusser’s range you will also like this one. The same goes for if you like the El Dorado 12 or/and 15, but think they are a little too sweet."
Ron Colon High Proof

Top review from Galli33:
"Thanks to RumRatings for this sample! This one is by far the best of the 4 samples from Ron Colon! A funky mix of different notes. Nose: Blind i classified it as a jamaican. Esters?!? 🤔🥲 There are smells and tastes of different fruits, agricole and a lot of spice. A short woody, coffee finish. Nose: 8.4 Palate: 7.5 Finish:7,9"
Wedderburn Tropical Aging MMW

Top review from Galli33:
"This is interesting one.. After reading all the nice informations on the bottle, I expected a lot more from this one! This is more like a dry clarendon and more on the woodier side. The alcohol is integrated well. To be honest, the price per value rating is horrible…"
Wedderburn Continental Aging MMW

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Finally got to sample the other half of this package. Lovely rum which needs to rest 20-30 minutes to get the full package off flavours Lightly dry and a slight bitterness with some fruits and chocolate. The glass the day after is really nice on the nose. "
Ron Colon Coffee Infused High Proof Rum

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The coffee taste dominates from nose via palate to the medium long finish. But the coffee is not as bitter as it’s in the Green Label, maybe because of the higher ABV at 55,5%. Besides this I recognized, just as in the Green Label, chocolate and some sweetness."
15 Years - Reserva Superior

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one today and it lost some points.,but that's what happens when it's a while back you tried it the first time 😊 Though sugar was added to this one it's a wonderful rum because they did not add a lot of sugar so the balance is perfect. Oak and spices are there from nose to finish and a bit of fruit as well. Price to quality is very good."
Jamaica

Top review from cigares :
"A nose marked by controlled esters, with ripe banana and pineapple. Pleasant on the palate, the alcohol is well integrated and the fruit is well present with cedar wood. The finish is a little short on fruit and cedar. A very pleasant rum for the price."
Single Barrel by Kirsch Import

Top review from RumTaTa:
"Second tasting: a slight resin note on the nose. Rating unchanged. A very good Agricole! Incredibly mild and round on the nose. Reminds me immediately of Foursquare. When I smell deeper into the glass, floral notes are added. Again round and mild on the palate, but here much more floral and barrel-heavy. There is practically no intrusive alcoholic spiciness. The aromas can all be found in the medium-long finish. I also find a hint of bourbon."
FRC Captain Cane

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4572 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit OK, this one was an instant regret. A mixture of sugar and Christmas spices. To me sweet with sweet on it and then add some sugar just because you can. Cheap rum but not a rum in my mind. Got a bit on my fingers and I think you can use it as simple glue ☺️ Brought home a sample to someone I know likes this kind of rum."
Letter of Marque 'Yankee' (Kirsch Whisky)

Top review from Rowald Sweet Empire:
"Very American Oak driven rum. Not unlike a good bourbon. Nose: lots of American Oak driven flavours. Bit of banana. Lots of vanilla. Malt. Will compare this to a bourbon some day soon. Taste: again all the pleasant American oakiness. Baked banana. Nicely sweet. Pancakes. Cinnamon. Peppery finish. Maple syrop. All in all straightforward in a way but very very tasty. Definitely a U.S. worthy profile."

Top review from zabo:
"Tag 21 RumX Adventskalender 2024: Relativ schnell heute einen Agricole erkannt, aber nicht mein Lieblingsprofil unbedingt. Deshalb aus Zufall auf J.M getippt, reines Glück. Insgesamt gesehen hat er mir doch ganz gut geschmeckt, aber trotzallem wirkt er sehr verwässert und bekommt hinten raus nach Standzeit eine seifig/parfümierte Note, das mag ich halt nicht."
Macnair’s Exploration Rum Panama

Top review from LukaŽiga:
"8:On the nose it is fresh, fruity and a bit sharp in the beginning. Smokiness is present all the time. A very kind nose with tropical fruits, hints of mango, some coconut and stone fruits, caramel .A gentle layer of milk chocolate makes this feel like a summery fruit-chocolate pie. In the beginning there is a slight spiciness. 7,4:On the palate warmer and sweeter than the nose suggests, there’s more spice and some added fruits. Bananas, mangos and oranges. This combines well with the still-present milk chocolate and some caramel, iodine also, some ashes, camp fire, a pinch of salt. 7,3:The finish is smoky, with tropical fruits and a bit of a spiciness. Work in progress...👍"
LSO

Top review from RumTaTa:
"I first notice the fresh and floral nose. Would I have blind rather assigned Port Mourant. I like it already very well. The floral does not reappear on the palate. Nevertheless, the rum remains rather like a very expressive Port Mourant. The long finish continues homogeneously. Only at the very end a few fruit esters flash up. Very good rum, atypical of Long Pond. Perfect for confusion in a blind tasting."
Caroni Distillery Heavy Trinidad Rum

Top review from cigares :
"A nose of wood glue, of old wood that's not very clean. A nose of dishwashing spatula revealing an unclean barrel. The mechanical workshop is in the background. The palate is bumpy, with chaotic development. The finish finally becomes interesting when the chaos stops. But then the unclean barrel reappears. A rum that doesn't make you want to drink it. Chaotic and marked by an unclean cask."
Kill Devil Trinidad Fernandes

Top review from DomM:
"Nose: Roasted, dark notes are very dominat. Significantly different from the TBRC Fernandes. Palate: same again. Dark and roasted notes, some sweetness. Reminds me nothing of TDL but rather of a South/Middle American Spanish style rum. Again: very different compared to the TBCR."
Flensburg Rum Company Ecuador Hammerhead - Sea Shepherd

Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4596 02.02.2024 Relaxing at home while preparing for a triple tasting next week, phew that's going to be a tough one. Not too bad a rum but I think the ABV could have been better integrated. Nose Wood, light roasted, dried fruit, floral, light caramel, faint medicinal, light chocolate. Palate Wood, roasted, fruity, light nutts, chocolate, light caramel, light medicinal. Finish Medium long, wood, herbal, light nutts, light caramel. The empty glass has some tobacco and faint coffee."
Kirsch Whisky Exclusive MMW

Top review from DomM:
"Very intense and distinct MM profile. Rather on the fruity side. Very powerful with plenty of flavors - no easy sipper. Like it!Edit: A few drops of water go a long way with this one.Edit2: A couple of weeks oxidation in the opened bottle also helped to smoothen out some of the harsher edges - really enjoyable after all"
Ron Colon Coffee Infused Rum

Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Coffee dominates this rum from nose via palate to the medium long finish. During the finish this coffee taste getting quite bitter. Besides the coffee taste I recognize chocolate and some sweetness. It’s also having quite much alcoholic taste for the love ABV."
Pre-Cask Hope (Boulders)

Top review from Galli33:
"Well... A difficult case here😬😬 Some guys love the rums from Renegade, but a lot of them don’t like them, because of the strange character.😆 I found this one relatively good, less mechanical workshop flavors, but more sugar cane and vegetal aromas."
Pre-Cask Lake Antoine (Upper Lake South)

Top review from Michael Ihmels 🇩🇪:
"Wow this rum is clearly underradet in my opinion. You can hardly taste the 50 percent alcohol. Of course, it is clearly recognizable in the smell and taste. A clear recommendation from me."
Pre-Cask Westerhall (Old River)

Top review from Steffmaus🇩🇰:
"A tasting from a bungalow in Turkey. From my experience with Renegade, this hits a lower end of a score. In the nose you have no doubt it is based on sugarcane. Some vegetal and acidic hints. In the notes, more sugarcane, a sweetness, hints of glue and a lingering aftertase"
Rum 15 Jahre

Top review from Gregor :
"Sehr fruchtiger rum. Schöne intensive Töne von Pfirsich und arprikose gepaart mit ein wenig Rauch. Leider sehr dünn und verwässert somit sehr schnell weg auf Zunge. Leichte süße. Wahrscheinlich durch Zuckerzugabe. Aber alles im legalen bereich"
Caroni Distillery Heavy Trinidad Rum

Top review from DomM:
"Nose is more dirt forwards with some sour/vinegar note to it. On the palate: points for some classic Caroni notes. Unfortunately this is all a bit one dimensional and lacks complexity. Not a bad bottling, but definitely not the pinnacle of 98 Caronis tbh."
