Plantation Extra Old XO 20th Anniversary
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Delicious and a lot of tropical fruit. Vanilla is coming through in this one and it sticks for a while.A super rum to sit and sip with your friends.A very good beginners rum in my mind,"
Diplomático / Botucal Reserva Exclusiva
Top review from Oliver:
"With this rum, many have discovered their love for rum. By the sweetness and complaisance the ideal entry. Meanwhile, however, it is clearly too sweet and one-dimensional for me. Nevertheless, a recommendation for all who want to collect their first steps in the pure enjoyment of spirits."
Dos Maderas 5 Years + 5 Years PX
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retaste this one and it's a very mild well rounded rum that I think can be used for beginners as well. Draws very nice curtains and the empty glass is full of flavours."
Smith & Cross Traditional Jamaican Rum
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"If you should have just one Navy strength rum in your bar, this is the one. The nose is complex with aromas of esters, fruits and spices. At the palate it’s complex and funky with flavors of esters, fruits and spices. The finish is quite long and dry."
Plantation Isle of Fiji
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall is the nose unpleasant, palate better than expected and too short finish. The nose is fruity, spicy and smoky with additional smells of glue, alcohol and vanilla. At the palate it tastes like the nose indicated except for alcohol and glue, instead it’s very sweet."
Plantation Grande Réserve
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Typical Barbadian in nose and palate. A very young rum so don't expect too much from it. A pleasant nose and ok semi complex fruity palate with a finish that ends almost before it begins. Price to quality is very good."
Fine Aged Rum
Top review from DosenZorn:
"Have bought this rum mainly because of the beautiful bottle. Actually a Red Flag, if you are looking for good taste, this one has surprised me relatively positively. Due to the only 40% somewhat watered down and thin and not too complex but a nice Feierabend Sipper at a good price. Definitely a great entry rum and superior to the many dead sugared competitors.Addendum: last drop is out of the bottle. Complex? Rather less. Good sipper? Definitely. A good unsweetened representative of the Spanish style. A little more power would have done it good. A >50% version would be nice. Still, great price/performance. Overall rating 2"
Plantation Original Dark
Top review from Gregor :
"Exciting rum. Aroma of honey and fruit. Taste of caramel and dried fruit. The taste is intense and slightly roasted dark tones. Price-performance ratio is definitely right. There are plenty of better ones. But for this price also a lot worse"
Companero Ron Panama Extra Anejo
Top review from Tim :
"Dieser Rum ist etwas besonderes! 12 Jahre im Bourbon-Fass mit einem Finish in Fässern, die mit Kakao gefüllt waren, weshalb man hier die voll Drönung Schokolade bekommt. Etwas alkoholische Schärfe leider ist auch mit dabei."
Gunpowder Proof (Black Label)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s possible to find the Gunpowder Proof in three different blends. The oldest one consists of rum from Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados. After that it came with a blend of Guyana and Trinidad rum. The latest one just consists of different rum from Guyana. The one I review here is the latest one. I think it’s quite complex with a good balance between sweetness and dryness."
Canerock
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one and would have loved to try it at a higher ABV. Well price to quality is an absolute hammer. You get a lot for your money here. I was pleasantly surprised by this bottle. The nose is complex and well rounded with fruit, and spices trailed by chocolate, coffee and caramel. Try and leave the empty glass for a few hours and then whif it again :-) The palate is sweet and fruity with wood, spices and caramel. The finish is medium long and sweet with wood, spices and a light minty note."
Plantation 3 Stars White
Top review from Decky Hicks Doughty:
"The nose is vanilla forward. Quite a lot of esters and a subtle citrus and white chocolate note. The palate has the vanilla from the nose but it's more mineral and less fruity. Some exotic woods. The finish is quite short. Vanilla and toasted coconut mainly. Overall its a decent white rum. I'm not too much of a fan of this mixed but it's very reasonably priced and not bad neat."
Millonario Solera XO
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting this one as a dessert rum and it does well at that. This is a very sweet rum in my mind and you could use it for dessert actually. Again a solera blend of rums aging from 15 to 20 years."
Pure Single Jamaican Rum OWH
Top review from zabo:
"Edit Edit: batch #1 is better than batch #2 Edit: it's also really good as a mixer. Simply a classic. Good price/performance ratio. Works wonderfully to enhance both cocktails and long drinks. For me, it's the best entry-level Hampden and always will be. That's why I had to upgrade it again."
Veritas Blended Rum
Top review from Agricoler:
"Also highly recommended neat for the price - an absolute cracker. Really nice banana and green fruit on the nose. Top mixer that I always have a bottle of at home. The best in white from Jamaica and Barbados combined."
VSOP Spéciale Réserve
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"A remarkable VSOP that’s very balanced and elegant. The only one of those I’ve tasted that can compete is the 8yo from Dillon. Significant scents and flavors are prunes, grass, sugarcane, vanilla, licorice and tobacco."
109 Jamaica Rum
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This Pot Still rum is a blend of rums that’s consisting of unaged rum as well as rum aged for up to 3 years. Overall it’s a great high esters, funky and well balanced rum with heavy flavors. The nose is fresh and fruity. At palate it’s quite heavy, funky and oaky."
Wagemut PX-Cask
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a very light and close to diluted release. Price to quality is pretty good though. Sweet and fruity with some caramel and spices. Mild and oily on the palate and finish. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has really nice flavours."
Cinabrio Ron 12 Años
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"very nice play of orange peel, tangerine & toffee, clearly better than the old 12 cihuatan. apparently not only the design but also the recipe has been improved again here.👌🏽 overall, however, it is a bit woody and one-dimensional but nicely orangey. I find the indigo better in terms of plv."
Planteray Cut and Dry Coconut Rum
Top review from RumTaTa:
"As soon as the rum is in the glass I think I have a plate full of fresh coconut macaroons in front of me, coconut ^3! On the palate there is a slightly grassy note but the coconut flavors continue to give full steam! The finish is surprisingly long and - surprise! - is dominated by coconut! For what it is, it's excellent and a great addition to pina coladas and other exotic cocktails!"
White Overproof
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"One of the epic rum mixers, that was used by Victor Bergeron when he created Mai Tai back in 1944. The nose is mostly fruity and spicy. At the palate the fruitiness dominates with flavors of citrus, banana and pineapple. The finish has a certain sweetness and a long spiciness."
Original Admiralty (Blue Label)
Top review from Mirko Frosini 🇮🇪:
"Very distinctive rum. I cannot say it is a good rum, but it is full of curious olfactory surprises. In my opinion it renders better in the nose than in the mouth. Many nuances on the nose, coffee and well-roasted caramel predominate on the palate with a faint woody note. Medium finish with coffee predominating. The banana that I felt lightly on the nose disappeared on the palate. Fun rum for an out-of-the-box tasting."
Rum-Bar White Overproof
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This is a pure pot stills rum consisting of a blend of WPEL, WPL and WPE rum from the Worthy Park distillery. The finish is just medium long and shorter than for the other white Jamaican Overproof’s. Overall it’s also the most pungent of the big Jamaican three."
Oaxaca
Top review from lukasdrinkinghabits:
"This rum has turned my drinking behavior upside down. Before that, I drank wine almost exclusively. This daiquiri opened up a new world for me. "Wild fermentation, freshcut grass" was on the menu at Gone Away Bar (RIP😪).It's mostly the fermented, savory, salty vegetal flavors that set this Cane Juice rum apart from the French agricoles. The nose is marked by savory antipasti: olives, artichokes, hot peppers. In addition, grass and tobacco. Fruit is there too: gooseberry and lime, but quite a bit behind. In the daiquiri it becomes a bit fruitier and fresher. The savory notes, however, remain and you have to like them. I like them.In the mouth it is soft but still quite unusual: olives, olives, olives. Brine, ginger with green peppers. Also the often described mezcal note.In the finish more olive, artichokes and brine.Pure is honestly too crass for me, but in the daiquiri he is gigantic."
Cihuatán XAMAN XO
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a smooth and pleasant Latino rum. It’s a 16yo rum containing rums aged for 15 years in American oak ex-Bourbon casks, and finished for one year in Mayan Ceiba casks. It’s fruity and smoky with aroma and flavor of vanilla and pistachio."
Companero Elixir Orange
Top review from Lutz Lungershausen :
"06.2024 Erster Eindruck: Orange! Nase: Orange, Früchte Geschmack: spritzig, Fruchtstäbchen Abgang: kurz Gesamteindruck: fruchtiges Likörchen 2022 Sehr süß, stark aromatisiert, Jamaika kann man allenfalls erahnen – mehr ein Dessert als zum puren Genuß. Ich nutze ihn zum Beträufeln von Gebäck und als Schuß zu Nachspeisen."
Ron Esclavo XO 23 Años
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Much too sweet for me! At the nose it’s round with aromas of vanilla, caramel and cocoa. At the palate and during the medium long finish it’s sweet and round with flavors of vanilla, caramel and chocolate."
Angostura Trinidad
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Relatively wild & dirty with so much glue/petrol. Very unusual for a Trinidad. Mint, caramel syrup, dried fruit and lots of spices on the palate. But it's not really harmonious. Too sweet and at the same time too "dirty"."
Myers‘s Original Dark
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Bought me some bottles cause I couldn’t find Goslings to a competitive price cause I needed some dark rum to make Dark ‘N’ Stormys during the quite short Swedish summer. Tasted it first neat against Goslings Black Seal. Myers’s was then a clear winner because of nose and finish. When making the Dark ‘N’ Stormy contest I think it’s up to one and each of us to decide. When using Myers’s you get much more rum feeling mostly because of the finish. I prefer Myers’s but Goslings is also great so I think it’s all about personal opinion and taste."
Austrian Empire Navy Rum Reserva 1863
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a rum in the cheaper end of the spectrum. Also a sweet rum, not to sweet and probably a very good starter rum. The nose comes off sweet from honey and molasses and descends into primarily vanilla with a hint of chocolate. The palate is sweet with some roasted banana, vanilla and cherry. There is a bit of creaminess to it. The finish is medium long and oily, sweet and vanilla dominates. "
Rum Artesanal Burke‘s Single Blended Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"absolut gigantische PLV und geniale Aromatik nach Jamaika Funk und Savanna Frucht. mega komplex. macht sich übrigens fantastisch im improved Chartreuse swizzle💥 unbedingt auch im Missionarys downfall testen!"
Bellamy‘s Reserve MDR
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
Aged 15 Years
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Some call this new 15yo for “Nelson’s Blood”, but it’s definitely not the same. This one isn’t nearly as sweet as the “Nelson’s Blood” and there isn’t written “Nelson’s Blood” on the label either. Overall it’s a very good rum, but probably quite long from what a Navy rum tasted way back in time. I would say if you like the other rum in Pusser’s range you will also like this one. The same goes for if you like the El Dorado 12 or/and 15, but think they are a little too sweet."
Caraibes
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Got a sample of this rum from RR Tasting Club some time ago. Compagnie des Indes Caraibes is a blend of rums from Guyana, Barbados and Trinidad. The color is quite pale and I haven’t found anything about aging, but I suppose it’s a quite young rum. I don’t recognize rum from Guyana or Barbados in the blend, so I suppose it’s mostly rum from Trinidad in the blend. Overall it’s too bland for my taste and nothing to write home about."
Rum Artesanal Burke‘s Seamaster Blended Rum
Top review from Oliver:
"Harmonious blend from Barbados (main component) and Jamaica. Typical Foursquare associations on the nose with a few tropical fruits. On the palate, the Jamaican component comes out a little more. A great blend for relaxed enjoyment. However, the real strength lies in high-quality drinks."
Angostura 1787
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Retasting and it did lose some points 😊 ------- This one concludes this week's tastings. Angostura has done it again. Another great rum and this one is a tad better than their 12 year old. This one was blended by John George's and he did a really good job. After blending it matured for 15 years in oak and you can taste that oak. A fruity well balanced rum with a long and full bodied finish."
Serie Experimental No.2 Banana-Infused
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"🤤🍌 more banana does not go. However, still recognizable as rum, because the sweetness comes only from the dried bananas. For me, a perfect liquid dessert and an incredibly delicious easy sipper for every day. Tip: Banana Boulevardier with a little salt🤤"
Bellamy‘s Reserve Rum Jamaica Pot Still Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"sehr runder, einstiegsfreundlicher Jamaica rum. die typischen Ananas Mango Noten von Long Pond harmonieren super mit den Buttersäure, Joghurt-Noten aus Clarendon. das ganze schön trocken und komplex und zu einer sehr fairen Preis Leistung 💯🇯🇲"
English Harbour Oloroso Sherry Finish (Batch 2)
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The tasted one here is from batch 002. Have also a bottle from batch 001, unopened. I tasted it the first time during my vacation in Antigua down at a restaurant in Falmouth Harbour. Thought that the nose was great, but the nose of the port version is even better. But nevertheless this is a great rum, well worth trying, that’s very complex and has a great finish."
15 Ans
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a very nice Agricole with great flavors from Saint James, but when I tasted it together with the 12yo, appreciated the 12yo more. It’s full of flavors from the barrel, vanilla and fruits, but I think it tastes a little little bit too much oak to run out the 12yo."
Serie Experimental No.1
Top review from zabo:
"So Tag 2 vom RumX Adventskalender Was für eine krasse Nummer. Je länger dieser im Glas war, desto öfters musste ich umdenken. Kurz vor Schluss zumindest auf der richtigen Spur gewesen. Ob Guatemala, Panama oder halt jetzt doch Kolumbien, die Richtung hat gestimmt. Schön wieder probiert zu haben, aber meinen Geschmack hat es leider nicht getroffen."
Rum Artesanal Jamaica Rum EMB
Top review from DomM:
"Well… obviously I seem to like it a lot more than most people… 🤔😅 Here is my „trick“: pour a glas -> forget about it -> skype with a friend for c. 2h -> remember the Rum -> alcohol feels reasonably integrated 🤷🏻♂️😅 Intense woodnotes in combination with herbs somewhat remind me of (much older) KFMs - again I actually like this one."
English Harbour Reserve 10 Years
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"The molasses is bought from Dom.Rep. and Guyana. After distillation it’s aged in former bourbon barrels of American oak, which are charred, for between 10 and 25 years. To enhance the oak taste is a handful of oak chips added to each barrel. In my opinion is it a great rum that overall is very dry and oaky."
Mauritius (Perola)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Clearly milder and more drinkable than the 11y old without finish. The additional 20 months in the Armagnac finish have softened the rum perfectly and taken him some of the edges. The 11y is clearly more funky and intense, this one is clearly more harmonious but still with enough power. Exciting are the light peachy / apricot notes with eucalyptus and dark chocolate with cappuccino, cinnamon, nutmeg and nuts, as well as some lemon zest and at the very end comes back to me the characteristic menthol / grapefruit peel note. I also like very well, almost a little better depending on the mood!😁🥳Anyway, both bottlings are imho absolute Mauritius Gray's benchmarks!👌🏽"
HSE Blanc
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"In summary it’s a rustic, dry, powerful, intense and balanced Agricole Blanc. I’ve also tested it in a Ti Punch and it was great. The nose is fruity, spicy and floral. On the palate it’s a little bit rustic and the aromas from the nose just explodes in the mouth."
Cihuatán Alux Aged Rum
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Dieser Rum ist auch ganz in Ordnung. Eher etwas süßlich, schmeckt und riecht in Richtung Schokolade und Karamell. Für mich ist aber der Alkohol nicht richtig eingebunden, den hat man nach dem Genuß noch zu lange im Mund."
Opthimus 25 Años Malt Whisky Finish (TOMATIN)
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is a retasting and I'll leave the old comment and change the points 😊 This is a malt finish og their normal 25 and you definitely get the barrel finish. The nose is sharp in the beginning so leave if for 15 minutes ad you get rewarded with fruits, vanilla and caramel. There is a bit of earthiness about it. The palate is mild and well rounded with a lot of tropical fruits, berries and grapes topped with vanilla and oak. The finish is medium to long with a sweet stickiness followed by fruit, cocoa and caramel."
Origenes 30 Years
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This was the last one in the tasting of today. This is a great 30 year old. Well that said, the youngest rum in this blend is 30 years! A really well balanced and at an OK price tag. If you like Cuban rum you should give this one a try. Getting a bottle may be a challenge as it's extremely limited. The price tag for this bottle is very good compared to what you get. "
Bellamy‘s Reserve Jamaica Clarendon MDR
Top review from SaibotZtar :
"Spicy Clarendon. The nose is even better than the taste. Nice fruity and somewhat floral nose... little wood. In the mouth very immature and alcoholic. Quite ok but nothing that I personally need."
Razel‘s Peanut Butter Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Mega delicious liquid dessert. 🤤🥜🥃Crunchy Peanutbutter to drink, nice mouthfeel salty and creamy-sweet at the same time with an authentic natural peanut note, Madagascar vanilla and a slight saltiness that make it super full-bodied!"
Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Perola)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"16y tropical aging 100% Coffey Collumn Still Ex bourbon+ 3y Ex Port cask, 60,1%.
British Guyana Limited Edition
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Sherry influence is especially in the taste quite clearly perceptible, but rounds the whole harmoniously without being too dominant and especially without being too sweet. to get to know Guyana at a fair PLV times and also relaxed strong old fashioneds to stir an excellent choice!"
Bellamy‘s Reserve El Salvador 12 years old PX Sherry Cask Finish
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Verhältnismäßig trocken für ein PX Sherry Finish... super plv ! Haselnuss, Schokolade und Rosinen sowohl an der Nase als auch im Geschmack, aromatisch nicht ultra komplex aber durchaus rund und ein schöner Einstiegs Rum ohne Zucker."
Cihuatán Suerte Aged Rum
Top review from Tim :
"Eher schwach an der Nase, obwohl er ein paar Prozente extra bekommen hat. Holz- und Sherryeinflüsse sind dominant, an Nase, Mund und Abgang. Ergänzend gibt es Gewürze, Trockenfrüchte und verschiedene Süßigkeiten. Interessanter Aspekt an der Nase: Bleistiftspähne."
Small Batch Rare Rums
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"Really very convincing Port Mourant. Only because of the incomplete tropical maturity not quite at the level of the PM 1993 from Velier with 65% (RX2729) tasted at the same time - but much more affordable (although also hard to find)."
Razel‘s Choco Brownie Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Schokobrownie in flüssig, wie frisch aus dem Ofen, warm und saftig und in Kaffee getränkt und mit Ahornsirup übergossen und mit karamellisierten Pekannüssen bestreut. Sehr lecker wenn man auf flüssige Desserts steht.🤤🍪🥃"
Blanc
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"A very fragrant, savory and dry Agricole Blanc with floral and spicy aromas, mostly grass and ginger. The distinctive flavors is floral, spicy and fruity with tastes of grass and sugarcane. I believe it’s ideal for a traditional Ti Punch."
Millonario 10 Aniversario Cincuenta
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Hat mich irgendwie enttäuscht dieser Rum. Hat eine würzige Note in Nase und Kaumen, hinzu kommt noch, dass er leicht süss ist. Schokolade, Karamell, Vanille und Kaffe sind herauszuschmecken. Hatte mehr erwartet von einem Jubiläumsrum."
Dillon VSOP
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"This rhum replaced the 5yo VSOP Reserve du Comte Arthur Dillon when Dillon changed their range, at least by name. Could be the same rhum in a new bottle, even if I don’t think so. It’s quite smooth on the palate and during the medium long finish, for a 4yo AOC Rhum."
Port Morant Demerara Rum
Top review from cigares :
"A rum tasted in a restaurant, the bottle well started. A superb nose, like a clubhouse with old varnished wood, a light smokiness coming from the fireplace, dried fruits on the counter. Big disappointment on the palate, which doesn't live up to its olfactory promises. Diluted but with a beautiful bitterness, a surprising vegetal side. The finish is short but elegant. The empty glass reveals the lost aromas with a lovely fruity woodiness."
Rum Agricola da Madeira
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"It’s a great Rhum being so young that I really can recommend.By the way is the Agricole’s from Madeira the only ones outside the French Overseas Departments that’s widely recognized as true Agricole’s."
Rum-Bar Silver
Top review from Stefan Persson:
"Overall a rum that will do better in cocktails and drinks than been zipped straight. Rum-Bar Silver from Worthy Park is an unaged low ABV Jamaican rum. It’s a blend of three different rums with different fermentation times. It’s made from molasses from sugar cane grown on their own estate in a Forsyth double retort copper pot still, and bottled without additives."
Forsyths 151 Proof White WPE
Top review from cigares :
"Whoo! The alcohol is well felt on the nose. But exotic fruits are not far away, fortunately! Pineapple in particular. The palate is hot and uncomplicated, but again fruits like banana. Ultra short finish with a remnant of dates. As stated on the label, not really to be sipped, more for cocktails. A few drops of water don't soften this bomb, they even make the nose worse.Amazing!"
Small Batch Rare Rums
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"03.07.2020 visited my friend and he had this nice rum in the cabinet. Notes. Nose: light wood, ester, overripe fruits, spices, light floral note. Palate: oily, light wood, light smoke, ester, banana, citrus, spice. Finish: long and warm, roasted wood, pineapple, ester, light floral note."
Royal Ambré
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Na ja, ein eher unterdurchschnittliche Saint James. Nase ist überwiegend holzig und alkoholisch, aber auch Klebstoff ist zu erkennen. Am Gaumen ebenfalls überwiegend holzig und alkolisch, aber auch fruchtige Noten sind zu erkennen. Wirklich nicht gut."
Vizcaya VXOP
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"This is an OK rum for sipping and also a good rum for beginners. The nose has orange and maple whe poured and once rested for a while you get brow. Sugar, nuts and cinnamon. The palate is kind of light and sweet with oak and vanilla and a bit of nuts. The finish is medium long with oak and cinnamon."
Aluna Coconut Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"for a coconut rum pleasantly "dry" and not so mega bappily sweet, plus a really pleasant mixture of roasted coconut chips, as well as coconut water and a hint of banana & vanilla. the whole thing is very creamy and oily. definitely try it in a daiquiri and mojito, where it really shows what it can do! and top PLV and finally a real coconut rum and not a liqueur, thanks to less than 20g sugar per liter."
Saison Rum
Top review from LukaŽiga:
"7,2:The resolutely buttery nose of this rum does not detract from its expressiveness, which from the very first moments gives an impression of balance. Simple but well orchestrated, it spreads its spices (cinnamon and especially pepper) and roasted nuts. The coconut is soft and slightly roasted, this sweetness balances quite rightly a small metallic and smoky side that flirts with quince paste. This aspect underlines a lively and tense side of the rum which does not spread out in greediness, just like the caramel which is well present but without giving a sweet impression. The candied orange peel has swollen in these vapours and adds thickness. Aeration is defenitely needed, it takes the power up a notch. The heavier and more concentrated aromas come out with a little polish. At this point, the buttery side is forgotten, the smoky/metallic Trinidadian style asserts itself once again. Jamaica is also present, with its famous "funk" of extremely ripe exotic fruits, and especially banana. More eccentricity then, but also a little more hardness, with a very black wood, although nicely waxed. A cherry or pear brandy bursts at times to bring freshness and dynamism. 7:The entry in the mouth is very soft, with a very light consistency. The tobacco and light leather notes quickly give way to a good woody phase, then to the smoky and metallic side, which itself gradually approaches a very dark cocoa. An oxidised compote of rustic apples brings sweetness and thickness, the balance is quickly established by the toasted wood. 7:The finish is reminiscent of a light metallic touch, molasses, caramel and vanilla. Instead of 6, the rum gets +7 from me, aeration saved the day for it... 👍"
The Royal Cane Cask Company Fiji SPD
Top review from Gunnar Böhme "Bauerngaumen" 🤓:
"It's getting better and better! If the El Salvador from Royal Cane has just cut a fine figure, the Fiji goes one better! Screw the fact that it has nothing of a Fiji, it's nice and strong and just tastes good. (Although I have to admit that, unlike the El Salvador, it would be better suited to a winter evening)."
Bellamy‘s Reserve Belize MBT
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"Recht holziger Belize mit den klassischen Aromen. Die leichte Verdünnung steht ihm meiner Meinung nach gut. Das macht ihn sehr entspannt trinkbar, könnte aber unter den vielen Belize Abfüllungen etwas unter gehen."
Small Batch Rare Rums
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 This is a retaste and I still like it a lot. Very mellow and well balanced. ------------------- This is a nice Port Mourant and I like the heavy nose with a lot of flavours being released after 15+ minutes of rest. Ester, coffee and herbs moving towards a medicinal nose. The palate is also kind of heavy with a floral touch, fruits and leather follows and still has a medicinal note. The finish is long and warm and you can clearly taste the sherry from the 5 year sherry cask finish."
Rhum Agricole
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Blind könnte man fast an Himbeergeist denken vor allem bei der Nase. Selten so ein intensiv beeriges Aroma bei Agricole. Erlebt. Absolut außergewöhnlich! Extrem rund und mild durch Minimum 2 Jahre im Stahltank. 👌🏽"
Bellamy‘s Reserve Mizunara
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"Interessante Abfüllung. Das Mizunara Fass kommt gut durch, schöne Ingwernote. Drängt sich aber auch nicht zu sehr auf. Mir persönlich etwas zu süß. Trotzdem ein gelungenes Experiment mit dem teuersten Holzfass das mir bekannt ist."
Bellamy‘s Reserve Martinique (Pear Cask Finish)
Top review from Zucker und Zeste:
"A successful experiment, in my opinion, which has not produced a top-class rum, but one that simply tastes good and is easy to drink due to the ABV and also has its own unique aromas. It is complex without being overpowering. And the price is very good in my opinion."
The Royal Cane Cask Company Jamaica 2006
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"#4113 Not your typical Jamaica, more a light version on my mind. Draws nice and slow moving curtains. Lightly fruity with wood and light glue. Dry and warm on the palate. In the empty glass i can pick up some chocolate and very faint licorice. After a few hours pineapple pops out of the glass."
T.Sonthi Belize XO
Top review from cigares :
"Un rhum foncé d’apparence. Le nez est équilibré sur le bois vernis et les fruits secs. La bouche est elle aussi agréable avec un côté caramel/vanillé en plus. La finale est raisonnablement longue mais plutôt unilatérale. Un excellent rapport qualité/prix, au-dessus du Jamaïque et très largement au-dessus du très sucré Barbados du même T. Sonthi."
Trinidad (Bottled for Perola)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Will probably be Angostura at cask strength, has for me personally despite the relatively short maturation time too much wood influence and a slight spiciness as with ginger. Hintenraus but also something slightly dirty interesting, almost burnt caroni-like in the finish but just very minimal."
Bellamy‘s Reserve Australia MAIC12
Top review from Serge:
Razel‘s Banana Bread Rum
Top review from Jakob:
"Rum? Naja. Ein sehr auf Süffigkeit ausgelegter Aperitif, der meines Erachtens bei der Zuckerzufuhr etwas zu grosszügig bedacht wurde. In der Nase eine sehr präsente Marzipan-Note neben den zu erwartetenden Bananenaromen, am Gaumen primär aromatisierter Zuckersirup."

"25.02.2017 A nice afternoon in the basement with rum and some delicious food. Notes Light in colour. Nose Light, faint roasted wood, pineapple, ginger, herbs. Palate Light, wood, faibt smoke, herbs, light nutts, light marzipan. Finish Medium long, wood, dried fruit, herbs, marzipan."
Bonpland Rouge VSOP
Top review from Michael Ihmels 🇩🇪:
"In der Nase leicht würzig. Und meiner Meinung mach ein wenig nach Kräuter und eine leichte Kaffeenote. Im Geschmack sehr durchschnittlich. Man kann ihn trinken aber auch wirklich nichts besonderes. In Ordnung"
Spiced Rum
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Surprisingly little sweet for a spiced. Also only 14g per liter. The spices/fruits pineapple, ginger, cocoa, coffee, mace, clove & star anise all come through nicely without dominating too much. Especially in rum cola with lime or with ginger ale, I think this spiced rum for 20€ is absolutely fine."
Bellamy‘s Reserve Jamaica HD OWH
Top review from Serge:
"Solider Jamaikaner mit mehr Frucht und Aromen, als man von einem OWH erwarten würde. Da hab ich deutlich schlechtere für mehr Geld probiert. Fruchtige Nase mit viel tropischen Früchten (Ananas, Banane, Kokos), Rosine, Toffee, Holz … am Gaumen auch etwas Limette und Papaya. Gaumen etwas kantiger als die Nase, aber immer noch im Rahmen und mit einer leicht cremigen Textur."
Dark Rum
Top review from Schnapsschuesse:
"Powerful and edgy through and through, but also dedicated not thought pure.fruit becomes wood and leather. Strong alcohol, spicy sweetness. Discreet charge of glue and smoke. Suits everything that is declared in the recipe as 'Overproof' and that well. Not so for everything else. Needs contrast flavors and acidity above all else.Addendum: whew, the 57% really isn't particularly well integrated. Even with 10 minutes breathing still schnapsig sharp."
Cihuatán Artesano Pineapple Edition
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Sehr schöner 10y alter Ananas Rum hier aus El Salvador, der weniger süß und künstlich wie andere am Markt ist. Macht sich fantastisch in Cocktails und schmeckt authentisch nach karamellisierter Ananas mit einer leichten Säure."
Trinidad
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Surprising drinking strength single cask here from CDI. Surprisingly expressive for only 8y and also very drinkable and accessible thanks to the 43%. Dried apricot, sulphurized raisins, grape, honey and eucalyptus, as well as oak wood and pink pepper come together very pleasantly here. Medium-long finish. Not a revelation but tasty and a nice introduction to TDL that doesn't overwhelm."
Patridom Elixir de Ron
Top review from Lutz Lungershausen :
Top review from Serge:
"Verkostet auf der Village in Nürnberg. Nase leicht floral mit einer guten Portion Aplfel, Birne und getrockneter Feige. Am Gaumen dann auch Schokolade mit dabei und deutlich würzigen und weniger floral. Ganz stimmig, aber nicht ganz mein Stil."
Rumult Blanco
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Der weiße fällt natürlich etwas ab von den Lantenhammers, ist aber immer noch ein ganz okayer Rum. In der Nase geht er Richtung Obstler, im Gaumen dann ebenfalls Obstler und noch dazu schmeckt er fruchtig und mild. Für einen weißen echt okay."
Bellamy‘s Reserve Panama
Top review from Oliver:
"Sehr angenehme und einladende Nase. Am Gaumen hingegen etwas rau. Würde in einem Blind-Tasting als Full Proof Bourbon durchgehen. Spannend! Klare Empfehlung für Bourbon-Fans wenn nicht der UVP so hoch wäre."
Bonpland Guyana
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Bonpland Serie Guyana 19 Jahre. Der letzte der Serie und einer der schlechtesten. Ist mir persönlich nämlich zu süss. Man spürt deutlich Honig in Nase und Gaumen. Ausserdem kommt dann noch junges Holz dazu. Nicht so gut."
Bonpland Guadeloupe
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Bonpland series Guadelouoe 20 years. This one is really good. As written in the other reviews, you really have a great aniseed note here. There is also licorice and it smells/tastes smoky. Top 👍"
Australia (Bottled for Perola)
Top review from crazyforgoodbooze:
"Jasmine & orange blossom, some green tea, floral honey, caramel candy and eucalyptus for the bitter note, as well as pear, apple and other rather yellow fruits. I like it a lot! Floral, fruity and mild."
Bonpland Panama
Top review from Timo Groeger:
"Bonpland Serie, hier Panama 14 Jahre. Soweit ganz okay. In der Nase hat man geröstete Mandeln. Außerdem schmeckt man das Fass und er kommt rauchig rüber. Im Gaumen dann, Vanille, Toffee, Karamell und dunkle Schokolade. Ist ok."
Bonpland Barbados
Top review from Kevin Sorensen 🇩🇰:
"05.07.2019 A little private get together to enjoy a few rums. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, light, light wood, light nutts, pineapple, light citrus. Palate Light, light wood, sweet, fruits, pineapple, light caramel, faint chocolate, light nutts. Finish Short, sweet, light wood, fruits, light caramel, chocolate."
